I listen to the radio frequently but especially to sports events.
I'm a big fan of KU basketball and IHS sports as well.
Just recently on air at the local station Indy 102.9 the 2 guys who do Bulldog basketball had an on-air fund raising event to benefit the fireman and his family who had their home and belongings destroyed recently.

As I listened to their broadcast I found myself glued to the
radio with every bounce of the ball in hopes that the Indy girls and boys teams would continue to score points to aid the overall money donated by listeners during that broadcast.

What a great concept first off to generate people to climb onboard for a worthwhile cause. A couple days after those games, I found out from others that these radio guys had never met or even knew who this family was they were helping. Just thought what a heart-warming gesture in a time of heartache and misery all around the country from the national headlines we constantly hear about daily.

I love listening to these guys broadcast, I've followed them for a couple years (including football season) and they do an amazing job! As I stated earlier, I'm a KU basketball fan and enjoy listening to Bob Davis on the radio, but I must admit that I'd rather listen to the Bulldog broadcast for the sheer excitement and excellent way they give detail to whats happening during the game. I definitely feel as if I'm sitting right there as it happens.

I certainly hope that the local radio station realizes what a steal they have in regards to them doing small-market radio.

Thanks for listening and Happy Holidays to All

We are lucky to have them. My kids were involved in sports and when I was out of town I loved being able to listen to games.

you have a right to your opinion just as I do. Regardless of what you think my comments are not an ad. Take it as you will I know how it was intended. And I never claimed to be a professional author just making a statement of my own beliefs

Actually you should be glad there is a local station that carries your Bulldogs and KU! 1029 and 949 are great "small market" stations. Hats off to all that make it happen!

Ya, these guys are awesome to listen too! Most bring in headphones to the game to listen to them while they watch! Great job guys!

I am another one who enjoys listening to Jeff Carpenter on the radio. I, personally, do not even like football but my spouse has the radio turned on so I listen to it. I swear Mr. Carpenter can even make ME think the game is exciting. He does a fantastic job with basketball (which I DO like) as well. I am surprised that he has not moved on to bigger and better things than good ol' Indy, but I am so pleased that he remains here. We are fortunate to have someone with such contagious enthusiasm announcing the games! I wish he did the ICC games, too.

lmao hopefully thats a sarcastic joke.
I remember them years ago doing the
high school games they were an amusing
amatuer act at best. But were not even
remotely close to present day coverage
for the bulldog games. But thanks for
the laugh :D

If you like sports at all you cant help
but appreciate the talents of the
Carpenters. They know their stuff and
call a helluva game every night. Last
nights game at fort scott was awesome
