The city spends money like a bunch of fools. They don't seem to realize or care WE are the ones having to pay for all their foolishness.

Good for the new president. We need more like him running our public offices.

Lets get some more trucks and cars so they can look cool while they drive around doing nothing to earn their wages. City is selling a lot of stuff in their new church property. Micky bought them all new furniture, chairs and desks. Must be nice. And all the employees want the prick fired.

The difference between Icc and the city is Micky Webb cuts something out because he says it's wasting money, and then he turns around and spends the money he's saved on something wasteful. I honestly think he looks at the money we send in taxes as his own bank account and doesn't give a crap about really saving us money.The commission acts the same way.

ICC is behind the other "wasters" thanks to SOME of the people on its board who have the guts to say no to stupid spending. The rest of them need to go since they haven't gotten the memo about people being tired of their stupid spending.

Got to tell you, met the ICC president today and first thing I did was to thank him for not raising the tax levy. He says, "My job isn't to find more ways to spend money, it's to give the taxpayers back more than what they paid." I about choked on my chewing gum. I told him that I would put what he said on topix, and he just said, "free speech is always good." Two reasons to like this man.

Any place that has extra money that could be used to help taxpayers, but decides to spend it on a bunch of waste (stadium)gets my vote. USD446 needs a big wakeup call because even though a huge number of the kids in its schools are on free or reduced lunches they evidently haven't gotten the message this isn't Johnson County. Shame on them all.

Thanks God for all the boards. They save all the malcontents from wasting their time trying to find something else to bitch about.

I moved here five years ago, and I'm still trying to understand why we have twice a week garbage pickup in the city, why there is no recycling, and why the city uses its own workers instead of supporting private local trash-hauling businesses.

Four County! HUGE money waste! VEHICLES they own near 100, or more! not unsual that Clients are moved around with new furnishings for each move, and more paperwork required along with more demand of money! If only the good could be realized seen vs. the $$$waste. It's time to freeze & roll-back these types of budgets, if not cut them!

I think (not sure) that Four County is a private organization that receives a small portion of its budget from the county, so that the county doesn't have to maintain it's own mental health facilities.

trashola, you thought wrong again. 4 county gets its m oney from grants, kansas department of transportation, and medicare, and medicaid. do some investigation. it is a great white buffalo standing in a field (out east) and it needs to be reformed. slashed, cut back, you name it. they dont get a free ride.

cant remember the KS statute but its madated by LAW to fund them. good thing about laws, they can be amended and or voided if the people speak. this is an election year. let your candidates hear from you

I agree that it's a huge waste of money. The summer Quest program takes care of kids with behavioral/an or psychiatric problems and there were about 200 in this summer's program. They basically babysit them and I'm guessing a lot of the kids are that way due to drug use by their pregnant Moms. It's sad, but they'll be a huge drain on taxpayer money the rest of their lives. Oh and did you read about the Mom of 15 kids by 3 different daddies in Florida, who demanded that the taxpayers should help feed, clothe and house her children. This is what our society has come to.

Schmidt once said they would use the tax credits to pay down the debt. This would save us all some money which would help us. Then he said they would use the tax credits to build the Taj Mahal stadium.
Then they said they needed to raise our property taxes because they were not getting enough from the sales tax. Is it just me or does this sound like a scam? What a racket.
