High gas prices in Kansas in general. Everybody adds their two cents into what our gas prices are. Opec, oil companies, the State Of Kansas, oil jobbers ie Crescent Oil, then the convenient store itself. You go over to Missouri, it is usually 10 cents a gallon cheaper. Crescent Oil supplied fuel over there also. The State of Missouri has dropped their gas tax, that is why the price of fuel is cheaper. Are the reason fuel prices are cheaper in Oklahoma, and Missouri because Crescent Oil, who also supplied fuel there, just does not like Kansas? It is easy to point fingers when you have no clue who to point them to.

Listen to the people who do not know Phil Near. Phil Near was loyal to Crescent Oil. He made Crescent Oil what it was before the sale to the crooks. He put his heart and soul into this company. His mistake and his managers were not researching the buyers well enough to know they were crooks. Yes there were bad time there, yes he might have made a few mistakes. I know if Phil called you friend, he would be loyal to you forever. So for all you who are beating the drum, most of you wish you had half the character, heart, and loyal that he has today. Move on, find something else to be mad at.
You don't know him as well as you think you do. He is not loyal to Crescent or anyone. He would throw anyone to the wolves to save his job. But didn't work this time.

How do you know him. Did you work at a Jump Start store and got fired for being incompetent. Have your hand out and cried poor poor me. I have personally know Phil since 1976. I know Phil. Phil would give his shirt off his back to help a friend. You must not ever experience his friendship. That is a shame. Don't tell me that I do not know him. The fault Phil has is he takes everyone a good and honest people until proven wrong. Most of the time he still would give you the benefit of the doubt or still call you friend. You must be an outsider that does not know what your talking about.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Bulldog you are right on the mark. The people who hate Phil (Crescent) are usually people who don't know him. Yes he has made mistakes ( ie; ex-wife, etc.) but he is far from evil. He has never deserved the abuse that the Independence community has given him. It's a crying shame because as you and I know from growing up with Phil. NO ONE was prouder of being a bulldog and being from Independence than Phil was.

Thank you. Glad to know that people who know Phil will stand up and support him as he would do for us.

Who can really fault him for the marital indiscretion? It's my PERSONAL OPINION that when you "let yourself go" as badly as she did you are opening yourself up for a divorce. I mean it isn't like she didn't have the resources to get a personal trainer, a diet coach, weight control coach, etc. You just can't (husband or wife) lose all interest in your physical health & appearance and then be shocked when your spouse does too. As I said, just my opinion....

I didnt grow up with Phil, nor have I known him for years. Actually, I just met him about a month ago. He is an old friend of my husbands, we had a few drinks and talked things over for a few hours. He is NOT what people are saying he is! He is a wonderful man, and people who saw him greeted him with a smile. I really liked him and I am proud to be his friend!

I will not comment on his ex. I have known her for a long time also. I do agree with Beach Bunny though.
Marriage is tough. If you do not work at it everyday, things do happen. Not that I am condoning anything that happened as right. When you let your appearance go some, you tend to get insecured with everything. This can also effect the marriage. I think the biggest thing is sometimes you grow apart and your goals and life styles sometimes is not the same as your partners. It happens.

Phil has two sides a working side and a person side and when it came to the working side of things he was about the biggest weasle i have ever seen. And yes i worked for him and it wasn't very good i am just wish that i was there when he got FIRED just to see his face.Because there was several people that got fired that didn't do what they were being accused of doing. I think he was doing it and let them go just to cover up his problems. Call me wrong but i lmao when i read it in the paper.Cresent does take part in high gas prices when they deliver gas to every place in town except for Casey's. They sell it to the stores at a high price so then stores must sell it at a higher price. In other towns you have different people delivering so thats what makes the differance. But then agian there are always going to be two faced people almost every where you work unless you work for yourself you never know what is really going on in those offices.

I did not personally work for Phil. I do not know YOUR SIDE of the story. I am in management an do know that you are never going to please all your employees and some of your employees will not like you. Sounds like you are one of thoses. Things happen. You have the right to your opinions. That is what living in the grand ole USA is all about. Getting fired from a job is not fun. There are always bad feeling when that happen. I am not the expert, but in my experience, the top employees that do their jobs and does them correctly, usually do not get fired. They are the ones that usually get promoted and enjoy their jobs. Sounds like you are not one of those either. Hopefully you have found a job that will meet your abilities and you will get along with your fellow employees. I am sure McDonalds would work well for you
