This story reads like a piece of fiction.

This does not add up for Independence Ks. We don't have a Sirloin Stockade, we don't volunteer for jury duty. Do these people live in Independence?

There used to be a Sirloin Stockade on Penn wasn't there? Or what used to be in the building that the Social Security office is in now?

They were talking about Coffeyville, but it involves Independence, and our local judicial system as well. We've had a problem here with the police, and judges having too much power, chipping away at basic rights of the accused. We do need more oversight.

We do need more oversight in Coffeyville over the court and law enforcement.

You don't volunteer for jury duty. That's not how that system works. The Judge does not berate a jury following a trial, in particular express his displeasure in the verdict reached. The Judge certainly doesn't tell the jury "we made that up" as the Judge doesn't present any evidence. The whole story is both very poorly written and a crock of shit.

I agree. If the writer wanted to talk about "better oversight needed," a true story to demonstrate the point would be the DeVivo farce at CCC.

I just finished reading the story and I'm sorry but it sounded pretty phony.
