Ive personally seen S.R.S. go after the dads & threaten them with jail time. But the S.R.S. wont go after the moms. My kids mother is a deadbeat mom. Is there any other sites out there to go to bat for the Dads...Really could use some help, more ways than one.

Could you be more specific? What kind of help could you really use?

Have you contacted a private attorney for legal advice with regard to child support?

Have you recently visited with a private attorney to obtain legal advice about the child support?

I believe you used the correct term in your first post "threaten". Unfortunately, our system does a poor job of going after either deadbeat...mother or father. Wish you the best of luck...

Go to child enforcement and red flag them if you have a court order. They will find them in 10 days if they have a job and can put a lean on anything they own such as a car or getting a fishing licence. They will take care of it but there has to be a court order for the child support.

We are in the same position as you. My kids' mom refuses to get a job because she knows that they'll garnish her wages. We've contacted Young Williams (child support enforcement). There IS a court order telling her to pay support. What a joke.

Just because one parent does not want to take responsibilty for thier children does not mean that the other parent does not deserve thier children. I am saying this because i have a friend who is going through the same situation with his ex-wife.

there is a lady in the parsons office who will track them down and get them for you. my advice is to have your case transferred to parsons. i did and got immediate action whereas the independence people did nothing. the only thing they actually did do that i asked them was to have my case moved to parsons. ask them and they have to do it for you. you are not required by law to keep your case here. mine started in el dorado and they were even worse than the people here. i cant remember her name in parsons but she was on it and the checks finally started coming in. there cant be too many people there. the independence child support people probably know what her name is.. go in and demand to be transferred. they will either jump on their jobs or transfer you. your option on that choice. this is the only way they will get off their butts here.

Yes,my husband and I have our kid and raised his and his ex-wife's as well. She never paid a dime as to help us with clothes, school/book fees, doctor visits, etc., etc. and she got away with doing absolutely nothing for her and my husband's kids. And yes she was ordered to pay child support as well but SRS did NOTHNG and the caseworker even laughed in my husband's face when he went up there to see about the matter of her child support. I took care of my kid and hers too. When I would call her to tell her one of her kids was sick or whatever the case, she didn't care and never called to check on them. Her family only called and asked for them on the major holidays. Yes, I realized that they came with the territory when I married my husband but how on earth can a woman be a mother and not want, love or care about her kids? I just do get it.

have your case transferred to parsons. their office people actually show up every day, take pride in their work and get the job done. all you have to do is ask and they cannot deny the transfer. the checks will start coming in or the dead beat will go to jail. period. it is easy, all you do is go to the child support office and demand a transfer to parsons.

Until courts are willing to lock up deadbeat parents for non payment things will never change. The argument against doing that has always been if a parent is in jail he/she cannot work and earn cash to pay child support. With work release it can happen and get the attention of the deadbeat parent. Go to work during the day and be locked up at night. But, for the most part courts won't do it. As older judges retire the newer ones are more likely to enforce orders against mothers than in the past. It is still an imperfect system, especially if the deadbeat flies under the radar and works for cash, etc.

I believe the courts don't do it because they don't have enough jails to hold all the deadbeat parents. Thats why it's so important to really know someone (if possible) before you decide to procreate with them. If they're an inconsiderate, self-centered person from the beginning, chances are they aren't going to change. You just need to set your standards high enough, so that you don't end up with these losers.

I have read everything you people have written on this site. And all of you are whiners.. And as for throwing the "dead beat" parent in jail.. Who do you think is going to pay you if that "parent" is in jail?? You can't have it both ways.. You bitch about not having the child support then you turn around and want that "parent" thrown in jail.. Which by the way.. you pay for their room and board with your tax money. Soo.... Make up your minds....
