Thanks to Main Street for making it manditory for persons to be required to be present to win the Main Street Christmas drawing, I hope you feel really special for excluding the handicapped that were not able to physically able to be there, this just follows a theme that Independence Kansas could care less about the handicapped and disabled.

Its been that way for years. They try to coordinate it with the open houses down town. Its also before all the other parades in the area due to our float maker is tied up at the others. If you want a good deal you do it when the float maker can do it.

Can the float maker build us ramps and get us in downtown close to where we can handicapped park? I didnt think so! Welcome to Independence Kansas, a Main Street Failure!

I thought the parade was nice. A good way to get people in the holiday spirit. Who cares if it is just before Thanksgiving. Just about less than a week. Get into the holiday spirit and quit being such scrooges. The parking was sure more convenient than during Neewollah, which was good.

Fredonia citizens are complaining because they had their Christmas parade apparently on Nov. 12th. I wish they would let each holiday be celebrated before we have to start the next.

Jenks Oklahoma, just south of Tulsa had their parade saturday. If we had it in Dec people would complain it's too cold. Can't please everyone. It was a great parade, a lot of folks, and beautiful weather.

If you don't like the way things are done then you should get involved. Independence is lucky to have such good volunteers that spend many hours keeping our town vital. These are hard times and it take everyone being positive to keep us going.
Think about it and volunteer to help. Also, shop Independence first-there are many good stores here.

"nice", some of us think christmas is a pagan holiday and is nothing more than a gift exchange.i dont have to have a holiday to buy someone a gift. so, you can just keep your holiday spirit, not interested,, i have a right to express my opinion as you do yours. and another thing, shut up.

You're an idiot if I have ever heard one. Get out of your mothers basement, get off the porn sites and come out in the real world. Want to see some change, get involved, make a difference!
