Stan isn't the kind of man who would get involved in covering up or excusing any kind of criminal activity. As for Chuck Devore, he has a very large family and some do have issues but the majority are law abiding citizens who work and pay the taxes that pay the salaries of the Sheriff. He is intitled to his opinion without being harassed. At least Chuck Devore went public with his support and thats more than anyone on this blog can take credit for.
Your wrong Stan would be the first to cover up or help a friend. What do you think he's been doing the whole time he's been in there.

Does anyone know if veach is having anymore fact sessions coming up? I have been hearing rumors about the Coffeyville PD not cooperating with him in locating the last escaped inmate. I have heard that cpd went out of state to ask for assistance instead of asking the local sheriff departmetn and Oklahoma had to asked for the local sheriff to assist. Who is responsible for the lack of cooperation is it really the local sheriff department or is it jsut election year and the coffeyville departmetn is trying to make the sheriff look bad. People are talking about coffeyville leaving the inmate on the streets ad refusing to help look for him.

I think veach is just getting his stuff packed up and going back into retirement.
When veach sent a memo out to NOT assist other agencies and told his officers over the radio to not respond to a assistance call for help. Why would any dept. want to involve him now? I know now however that they all got together and made a policy to send for help which should of NEVER been a problem I personally don't think there needed to be a discussion about that issue. They all should be working together. Stan has done nothing for the other agencies why should they do anything for him?

My question is why is coffeyvile leaving an inmate at large just to make Veach look bad? Shouldnt the safety of the citizens come first? Why wont coffeyvile help look for the inmaate that they ared responsible for? I thought at first that it was jst veach being a jertk but after hearing this I think it might be more of just trying to make hime look bad. I supported Bobby in the primary but some of the things I am hearing now are makeing me reconsicer my vote. It looks maybe like a bunceh of police officer want to get involeved in a popularity contested instead of protecting the citizens.

I am a retired officer from a much larger agency who moved to Independence just over 4 years ago. I know several officers from each agency and I will say that IPD is a very good agency. They seem to be the leader in training in this area and are very professional. This site seems to be full of politicians and folks who think they know law enforcement but I for one do know it, have worked and managed in a large agency and am very happy with IPD.

I have often heard them referred to as the training center as well and am curious if you can explain where they go once IPD trains them?

I did think that there were more veach signs in places that I didnt se4 them before. Does anyone know if there veach is having another meeting before the election?

I'm thinking you are confused about this. CPD is the one that the inmate got away from, not the S.O. So why would that look bad on the Sheriff? CPD DID and is STILL looking for this individual. Not sure where that came from, but it is false. Why would the S.O. spend all their time in C'ville? Their not.

Bottom line,

The current Sheriff has been terrible for local law enforcement. Most officers and deputies don't want him back. I have talked to numerous of both and several KHP troopers. Most of them feel the same way. In fact, I found no KHP trooper that said they wanted him in office. Is it becuase they just don't like him. No! It is because he is dangerous and places officers and the public in danger. The Veach supporters on here either do not know him, go to church with him, or work for him. The officers know what is going on and MOST will not support him. ANY objective person who asks a few questions will find out why Veach needs to be out of office. He is also crude and is very unprofessional. He may be great at working an accident or writing a ticket but he knows NOTHING about management. I have nothing against him as a person but I want a stable, capable Sheriff in office and we are not even close right now.

Unfortunately, it's not about the signs. Some people just can't say "no thank you". They may have a Dierks sign, a Veach sign or a Gilbert sign and either not even vote or vote for someone else. I don't get it. I personally would not let someone put a sign in my yard that either I know nothing about or I would not support and that's exactly why. People see that and automatically assume that you are supporting that person. I have spoke to several people that have a sign up and I'll say "oh, you're supporting "so and so", and they'll say, No, they just asked to put a sign up, so I let them. I don't understand it, but that's just me. So, all that matters is their VOTE, not a sign.

I will let anyone put a sign in my yard b/c I support a persons willingness to go out and seek change. Rather than someone complaining all day these individuals have a vision and seek change. Doesn't mean you can vote for everyone or I would vote for that person its just supporting the American freedom. Where anyone can be voted into office. Everyone desires a chance a sign might help but it all comes down to the vote and that persons ability to pull the votes.

That's what I was getting at. Just because you have "so & so's" sign in your yard, doesn't mean that's who are voting for. I personally am on the other side of the spectrum, that I put out yard signs of the ones that I am supporting. But I can say, I see your point, that you just respect anyone that is getting out to seek change. That's part of the blessing of living in America.... we all can do those things!!!!!
last vote for Veach

My last vote was for Veach. I had a sign and thought he was O.K. I spoke with an officer in Coffeyville and he gave his view. I called a former deputy that I know and asked him his view. They were identical and are in line with some of the comments about law enforcement support listed on this site. I will be voting for the Republican candidate and there is only one candidate from each party on the ballot. I support and will vote for the candidate that the officers support.
