As an Obama voter I want to take a stand and say enough is enough of the human-animal marriage phobia that goes on today!

If a man wants to marry and have lots of sex with his dog, so be it! This is America... let him have the freedom to do so!

If a woman wants to marry her cat and have much human-feline cunnilingus, more power to them!

Who's with me?

We need not be limited to boring old gay marriage, but human-animal marriage rights too!

p.s. Obama rocks!

I understand your sarcasm but marriage and loving who you love is a human right. If you don't like it, don't do it. What are you afraid of? Does the thought of two girls kissing and hugging turn you on? Or is it the thought of two men that turns you on?

Absolutely no sarcasm intended. I'm completely serious. I think everyone and every animal should have complete freedom as far as their partnerships and sexual preferences.

Hell, if a school bus driver wants to marry a rabbit, that's fine with me! They just might want to be discreet when driving the kids to school lol

Soon this thread will have a flame next to it. A flame that will serve as a beacon of hope for men like you that put a gerbil or two up their ass every night while watching Richard Gere re-runs.

God Bless Obama

Great sarcastic analogy! Comparing gay marriage to human-nonhuman relationships is the perfect way to justify homophobia. I don't think you took it far enough though. Let me continue...

I think even if the cat/dog is at a mature age, and is a consenting tax payer under the federal jurisdiction of the US Constitution it doesn't matter. Even if the cat/dog defended the constitution by serving in the military, worships the same god I do, and has never broken any laws; I don't care! Even if the cat or dog is well loved by the community, volunteers it's time doing charitable things, pays it's taxes on time, follows the speed limit, votes for the same politicians I do, serves at my church, and is my son or daugher; I don't care, I'm just going to look at them with pity and disgust, because the society I was raised in puts the archaic, unethical homophobic views of ancient desert goat herders before modern science and 21st century moral obligation and eqaulity. And I call this being virtuous.

My old classmate, Rabbit Smith, used to drive a bus, so I can't help suspecting that you're attempting to make a subtle crack by talking about a bus driver wanting to marry a rabbit. You ought to be ashamed.

Does the tube of toothpaste have a social security number? Is it counted in the census? Can it be held morally responsible for its actions? No? That's ok, your joke is still relevant.

Take that libtards! Flawless conservative logic trumps reality everytime. I wish all the conservative politicians handled politicized social issues with the same logic as you, "marry me". I say "all" because most of them already do, but theres a few that have a grasp on reality yet.

Your strong use of logic has backed me into a hypothetical corner. Seeing no way to counter your logic with reasonable discussion and honest discourse, I've decided to instead resort to a common and simpler technique, familiar among my fellow party members and other lesser apes. For the remainder of this forum I am giong to make untrue, irrelevant, and annoying babble. This tactic will allow me to avoid acknowledging the plausibility of your assertions and rally support from others who may feel reason and logic have no place in a discussion.

Nothing has changed then? Status quo advice to you, if you keep spewing the same crap expecting different results, well never mind waste of time.

Homophobes have nothing intelligent to say to defend their position, so they act like idiots instead.

I'm guessing anyone dense enough to actually consider it to be legitimate comparison in the first place will, in all likely-hood, also be too (intentionally?) dense to understand simple explanations as to why it clearly is not.

Nonetheless: dogs and cats cannot enter into legally binding contracts in this Country, no non-human can. Since Marriage is essentially a contract, between "two consenting adults", it should be incredibly clear as to why the original question is completely, and really pretty obscenely, invalid.

The "marriage equality" issue is one of Individual Human Rights (within their individual "Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness") vs. government intrusion/oppression/interfere nce. Nothing more.

Although they do clearly represent a very small percentage of the Country as a whole, there are no legitimate secular arguments as to why "gays" should not be allowed to participate in the same kind of personal relationships that non-"gays" do.

The real irony of the situation; as is FAR too often the case these days; it is, yet again, the self-professed "small government conservatives" who are clamoring the loudest for the government to be invasively involved in an area that is not even mentioned in the Constitution.

My point being that marriage equality should, in fact, be considered a politically Conservative cause, rather than a politically liberal one.

Unfortunately it seems the heavy influence of the "religious right" over the past 30 years or so has obscured those sorts of truths from many who profess conservatism.
