I need a question answered. It is about my boss constantly talking to me about religion. Telling me I am wrong because he doesn't know that I go to church. I was taught to kkeep those things to myself. What is the definition of religious harrassment? What should I do. While I like the people I work with this boss is making me have second thoughts about staying there. And in this economy i am not sure I could find another one.
Any ideas.

Your boss probably just cares about you, regarding your life and family. There is a time to speak up for yourself & let your boss know that you do go to church.

tell him how you feel. tell him you just want to do a good job, and please do not harrass me about it anymore. if he doesnt stop, then go over his head. if he is at the top, then quit. is this a sincere post? hard to believe you wont tell him. sounds like there is more to the story than this.

This is probably one of the most strange things I've heard...

If it makes you uncomfortable, talk to him with a third party that has no horse if the race.

I couldn't imagine getting offended over religion unless it's repeated bad jokes with my religion being the but of them all. Or if I was the only person in my religion at my workplace and everyone made me feel bad because of it...

Your situation doesn't sound like harrasment, it sounds pretty petty...

Regardless of how everyone else feels, your right. The work place is no place to discuss religion, and your boss should know this. But they're right, you need to talk to him about it. Even if his intentions are good, if it's making you uncomfortable then it needs to be addressed. I know its intimadating confronting a superior at work, but two minutes of awkward conversation could save you months, or years (depending how long your there) of uncomfortable relgious banter. Just be careful how you approach him. Be sure to let him know that you appreciate his concern, but it isn't necessary and you would like for him to stop. Good Luck :)

What is the definition of Nascar harrassment? The def of constantly hearing about someones kids harrassment? And the line "telling me im wrong because he doesnt know i go to church"
You are a fry short of a happy meal,if that is true. You must sleep at church because if you do go to church, you would be talking to your preacher about this instead of trying to get "bs" stirred, we live in the USA we have freedom of SPEACH.

I thought christians were proud of the fact that they went to church. I thought christians wanted to spread the word of God to others. Sounds to me like this is your opportunity to show God that you are truely a believer and open your mouth and testify to your boss and coworkers about him. This could be his test for you.

the workplace is not a place to discuss religion, that should be reserved for church. If I work in the same business as you and you want to discuss religion with me and I don't want to, then you are infringing on my right to work with out interference and STEALING time from the owners of the business. Just because you have religion it does not necessarily follow that I want to listen to you tell me how great your brand of religion is. I come to work to earn money and help the business prosper so that I can have a job tomorrow and the next day and the day after; NOT to discuss religion. If I should want to discuss religion, I try to make it to church that week.

Evangelizing in the workplace is treading on other peoples right to not have to listen to you speak about non-work subjects that they may not agree with you anyway.

Religion in the work place. Unless it is a church, it has not place. Should not be mentioned. Boss should NEVER question an employee. This is asking for a major lawsuit. I can't believe there are still people out that that stupid.
