What do you think about the pretty young girls we have, but they have bad attitudes? Like messing around with a number of boys or get wasted and start being "slutty" There are a number of things they do, but are still accepted due to their "looks" Where's all the classy ones?

you mean like half the queen Neelahs?(sp?)

Meanwhile, really nice girls that don't have the money or the looks can't even try out. Hopefully for you, you are truly in Springfield... this is par for the course here in 67301.

Call it what you want. There are requirements and financial obligations, which means there are nice girls around who don't get a chance and other girls who have nothing going for them but their daddy's checkbook.

And before you try again to distract from my accurate point, no I'm not a disgruntled Deb wanna-be or the parent of one. Just an observation that has been known for years.

If all this stuff seems to bother you, and you are sick of complainers, stay the hell off of this column, FREEK!!! Everyone is entitled to their opinions! Sounds like you have a pretty bad attitude yourself!

There are no finincial obligations! You have to have a sponsor but that's not hard, and you have to buy a dress. What's your deal?

As a former Queen Neelah contestant, I will tell you Yes there is a lot of money involved in the pageant. I don't know that I would call it an obligation, however. Each contestant does have to go out and seek a sponsor who will give $100, and that is supposed to help with the cost of your dress, or whatever. In turn, the sponsor gets their name announced everytime the contestant is announced, in the paper, and on the girls 8 x 10 pictures that are displayed a in a window downtown. There are several events leading up to the talent and coronation, and those events require a specific dress attire. There is the interview, where one is to dress in professional attire, I know I know this doesn't mean you have to go out and buy something, but a lot of people don't have suits on hand as high school students. The judges DO look at these things, so it is typical to have to purchase some kind of suit. Unless you get in on a really good sale, I could almost guarantee that none of the gowns that you see on the Queen Neelah stage are $100 or below, so fork over some more for a gown. There is the tea ( business casual), and the pop party (more casual, but not sweatpants). Shoes, hair, nails, makeup, money used for props to use on stage, jewelry, cost of headshot, cost of lessons for talent, etc. It takes a lot of money to do this pageant, I know a lot of you from the "old" days are going to get on here and say that you don't have to go buy new clothes for this, but sadly that is something the judges look at, fashion, style, etc. They don't want to see girls come in with obviously warn clothes, or what have you, to their interview or to the brunch, the tea, or whatever. Sadly regardless of how much the "uppity ups" of Indy try to deny it, the person with the most money always wins. What does that tell you?

Usually people who say clueless about things are clueless themselves. People are entitled to their opinions, and yes everyones opinion varies. But there has to be at least one a-hole who wants to come on a positive or peaceful thread who has to make some kind of snide remark. So little compassion in this world anymore! And that is pretty bad. There are a lot of negative threads that are started, and that is pretty bad as well.

If your idea of a "positive" thread is one that's basic purpose is to talk of girls, presumably under 18, of being sluts, I am glad that I don't live in your world.

I am glad I don't live in your world either, FOR THE GRIPPER! You really must be stupid, and stupidity can't be fixed, if you like living in such a negative world, then more power to you! At least we have people who try to see past all the negativity! I'm not the one who starts negative threads anyway.

Obviously you must not have much of a grasp of the English language. Too bad, there's a world of interesting stuff out there if it comes to you. Look forward to what nom de plume that you post under next.

Perhaps you are on the wrong thread. Who even used the word clueless on this thread?

Boy, you sure are argumentative, maybe you should have been an attorney. I really admire the determination of some. People like you really amaze me. You still didn't read correctly, and you must not look at the Judge reply on the top of the comment. THE LITTLE BLUE LIGHTBULB MEANS...CLUELESS! AND THE LITTLE PEANUT MEANS...NUTS! So from now on anything you say is nuts. It appears YOU don't pay attention to detail. It's really sad how few people DO pay attention to detail, and some just act on emotion too much instead of thinking things through logically! I admire your spirit and determination...hhmm! Way to go ONE FOR THE GRIPPER! Nuff said!

Instead of babbling about things, why don't you point out what information that you posted, that you believe I have taken out of context. Explain this so-called detail on the post in question that I have missed. Thanks.
