Called the city water dept yesterday asking if they could tell me approximately what the water pressure should be at the meter. She kind pushed me off to another "lady" who couldn't tell me anything either, finally talked to some guy who didn't sound real intelligent and did not help me out as well. Why do these ladies at the city building have to be such shrews? Anyway does anybody have an answer or is there really not one? I'm asking because since the new water tower has been online I have been having plumbing issues involving to much pressure build up in my system.

You know that is a good question as to how much pressure the lines have on them. I am sure since the majority of the lines are very old a good boost in pressure is just what they needed. That new water tower will wind up costing the town huge in the years to come in water line repair. Gee, that will be the next thing on the list. The town needs to replace all of the water lines. Bend over Indy, here it comes again!! Sometimes, newer is not always better. Look at NASA and out space program, back to the future!

The city put air relief valves at the meters up around the water plant. Maybe they could do that for you.

thanks for the help, I live near the water plant and think they have recently put a new meter in and have been having problems since with to much pressure. Anyone know if they put back flow preventers on the new meters? Pretty sad when this is easier then trying to call somebody from the city last guy told me 12 to 18 psi
