Are you kidding me???? 10 years prison and 250,000 per tree???? While I appreciate the need to preserve the clarity and beauty of our jewel, Lake Tahoe, let's make the punishment more appropriate. 10 years seems a bit excessive - especially since murderers, rapists and child molesters can get out in 10 years or less. Get real. Let's leave the harsher sentences/punishments for the sick individuals that are truly deserving of long prison sentences.

Ten years in prison is a bit much. The rich people up at Incline might not stop chopping down trees even at $250,000 per tree so I say keep the fine and make it five years in prison. The woman went on to Forest Service property to cut down trees that can't be replaced to get a clear view of Lake Tahoe. If they don't stop other people with high fines AND a prison sentence, pretty soon Tahoe won't have any trees at all since everyone will want a lake view.
As far as 'sick individuals,' it's pretty sick to remove something that doesn't even belong to you. This woman's sense of entitlement is incredible. Book her, Danno!

To Reno redhard! You are a sadist. This woman did noy ruin anything that can not be replaced. and as far as the Fine , Well lets face it the county, the state , the country is so money hungery that the only thing that they think of is if the fine will fill the coffers ofthe office. For one I believe that comuunity serve in replacing the tree's is a goog start. The rest of the story should be taken from there and stop trying to convict those that have not done any real harm.
