The mayor and attorney, as well as the police chief/city administrator knew this before going after Moss? Maybe getting the plank out of their own eye was in order before they worried about that splinter elsewhere. And why was not the chief suspended, at minimum, over this? They try to oust a councilman over boorish behavior at best, but tolerate not only sexual harassment from a senior officer, but ignore the testimony of another that says he offered to "off" her husband for the insurance payout? And these are the guys casting stones at others?
They wanted Moss to resign over non existent harassment when the chief should have been fired and his officer offering to kill Ott's husband brought up on charges! But hey, who am I to complain about this corrupt administration!
OMG.....and why was this not all over the leader ???
I'm thinking the moss thingy was a great "hey lookie over here " . Where's the Moritz OUTRAGE ???
Why isn't Pee wee all up in arms over this and lying to the media daily ??? hmmm.
The jail hanging might not hold a candle to this !

Why didn't you post the lawsuit when you were informed of it and informed the citizens like you promised?

Ooooo. I'm soooo scared (rolling eyes). Seems like I'm not the one getting frustrated by negative publicity. The truth hurts, doesn't it? All I have posted are comments, opinions and questions that you refuse to answer. Did you ever think that if you posted the proof of your allegations and didn't lie and play games and would honestly answer the questions people are asking instead of diverting that you wouldn't be so frustrated and people might have a better opinion of you?

And don't do a snide remark. Review your actions and be honest with yourself.

I think someone is a little confused. First of all, everyone posting on here cannot be Doris. Which is what appears to be your assertion. Rest assured, when Doris has something to say, surely she will say it and there will be no question as to who she is. It appears your attempt to cast her in a negative light is backfiring. First of all, not many read this site and those who do know there is a concerted effort to take Doris out of the race. The repeated anti-Doris articles in the Leader are solidifying the existence of a faction that will stop at nothing to destroy her reputation. Looks like she is up for the challenge and has plenty backing her. Good Luck!

Yeah, right. You keep believing that. It seems to me that she plays the victim a lot like the incident at the Gold Buyer's and the incidents with the doctors complaining about her and the business licenses. Her actions are making her look bad. It isn't the Mayor, Shockey, Sweeney or the Leader. It is her actions and she should own up to them. If she didn't do the actions then there wouldn't be anything to report on.

And you said there is a faction to make sure she gets bad publicity to not get elected. Well, she, Hay and Boyer are doing the exact same thing to Counts so turn about is fair play. If she can't take the heat then she should get out of the kitchen and quit playing the victim. She needs to be more accountable and be for the citizens like she says and quit playing the victim before she is ready to be Mayor of our city.

The hanging cost close to a million. How much is this little soiree gonna cost ?

Why are they not rallying for ott like they were boondoggle ??

I don't think the Ott suit will cost nearly as much as a current councilwoman is costing us in legal fees with her antics. It's sad that they keep a separate ledger for just what she is costing us because it is so much.

The funny thing is, it wouldn't cost the city a dime if the Mayor did not allow some city department heads, the city clerk and the city attorney to spend their time and energy trying to stonewall a certain council person. Open doors and open records is what is needed at City Hall. The people who are keeping all the secrets need to change their ways or leave.

Why was it the City denied 4 times that a Master Transportation Plan existed which called for Ozark to be a connector road, and it was only after Swindler was shown the door, that it magically appeared? Did he file it in his desk, and when he was cleaning it out, just so happened to find it? Or was he intentionally hiding it, and instructed City Staff to violate the Sunshine Law. Can someone come up with any explanation other than intentional malfeasance for this fact?

So true! Come Thursday and DEMAND openness! And remove those in April who don't comply.

Maybe if you're money hungry attorney didnt get his nose in every little question that was asked, the city wouldn't have to be billed for so much. Give me a freaking break .!!! I guess you'd rather keep your head in the sand.

Looks to me like Shockey was WELL aware of the situation and chose to do nothing. If Sweeny were any kind of good attorney he would have advised that Shockey resign. It seems very odd to me that the police department puts people on unpaid leave like they do. To me if they want to put someone on leave it should be paid until they are found guilty of what is being charged. Instead they city treats them as if they are guilty before trial, withholding pay. To me this is wrong.

So are you saying that some officers get put on unpaid leave during their investigations for wrongdoing and the Chief did not? Is that normal?

Now who's arguing/questioning themself(ves).

No, they don't all get put on paid administrative leave. It depends on what it is. This most likely wouldn't.

Well, I beg to differ! It seems that many officers have been put on unpaid administrative leave and the period for making a decision on whether they would be able to stay or let go is stretched out so long they cannot afford to keep waiting. It's a waiting game and the city attorney has the upper hand and deepest pockets when it comes to litigation, he is using taxpayer money, the poor working stiff is on a limited budget trying to get by with no paycheck coming in because I guess, they are guilty until proven innocent. Just like accusations against Ken Moss and unlike the accusations against the Chief and the officer.
Maybe this little scam works on non-police department employees also, it sure does put added dollars into city attorney, Bob Sweeney's pockets!

Again, it depends on what the matter is. No, not all officers get put on administrative leave.

Answer the overriding question. If you knew about this lawsuit when it was files since you were on the council, why did t you bring it to the citizen's attention then? Why did you wait until now?
