No I did not say that! He and the employee had discussed it and agreed upon it The Wood Den had also recieved garnishment papers and told child support that the man did not work there. Ive also been told that the owner has had a sexual relation with another teacher and has had to "let go" teen boys gor stealing alcohol from the shop. Its not my problem it's the community's problem. We ard supporting this man's children. Im not slamming anyone I'm letting people know what I've heard and seen.
I am the owner. Ryan Meyer. These comments are all untrue, except for the fact that I did let an employee go when I realized that he was not paying child support after he told me that he was. The rest is made up.

It is embarrassing to me that these two people chose my business review area to hash out their child support opinions. The deadbeat dad in question was let go from his $9/hr job immediately when I realized that he was avoiding child support. He earned $495 from my business in 2012 for time he worked, which is below the amount (600) to require filling out a W-2 and which would have told me that he had to be garnished. As for the "mess" comments, we began to lease the old Chevrolet building across the street in an effort to bring the the operation inside. So now this is the second abandoned and dilapidated building that I am renovating at the "entrance" to Crystal city which create a revenue stream for the city.
As for the alcohol to minors comments and the adultery comments, I dont know how to respond. Those are ridiculous comments that must be fueled by this lady who is obviously mad at my former employee and just wants to inflate the situation.
I apologize to any of my future customers who read the above rantings from two locals. Thank you TAX PAYER for trying to defend my business , I encourage anyone to come in, see my operation, business practices, and judge me for yourself.

These are obviously the rantings of a lady who is mad at a former short-time employee of mine.

Ryan did a project for me last summer...a log staircase.

It is fabulous...beyond my expectations. In addition, the price was great for what I got. Ryan was friendly, professional and a joy to do business with. In short, I would recommend The Wood Den with absolutely no reservations.

I've been a customer of the WOOD DEN for over two years and admire Ryan's, the Owner's, artistic and creative attributes. I'm also glad to see he's expanded his business, moving across, the street. The WOOD DEN has character, lots of potential and many young volunteers anxiously lined up to learn a trade that at some schools, is no longer available. I COMMEND Ryan for doing a terrific job. He's giving folks the opportunity to learn a skilled trade, by a Professionall Carpenter, as well as the art of carving. As for the WOOD DEN being an eyesore, well, it depends on whose eyes are doing the looking. An eyesore to one or more is just that, an "eye soar". So please allow your eyes to SOAR (like an eagle), the beauty surrounding the wood and release your imagination abling it to peak at it's highest level. After all, the tree that was "placed" in the Garden of Eden was there before man was created.......WOOD HAS BEEN AROUND LONGER THAN MAN?? "GOT A MAN?" ... or "GOT WOOD?" Ryan, keep up the great work and I'll be in soon to order my out house WITH a satellite dish!

Wow! This has gotten a bit nasty with rumors! I've lived in Crystal City for over 25 years and I have to agree that the business looks a mess and now has gone from the little ole train station to across the street. I understand that the old car dealership has new business however the mess of burning wood and wood laying all over is an eyesore! How hard would it be to focus on the beauty of an entrance of the city? Just clean it up! Stack wood in piles. Remember wood piles? It is scattered all over and will help unwanted animals into our town. I do not personally know Ryan but can see how the scattering of logs can upset someone. I also know if this was being done in a private residents yard they would be ticketed and have a fine. So it is up to the residents of Crystal City to let city hall know we disapprove of the mess.

Wow, looks like some people in crystal city need to get a life-lol. Can't you guys up in that town find anything better to talk about. Ryan is a great guy. Wish he was down here in potosi so I wouldn't have to drive so far to get my stuff. I think the wood and carvings all over the place looks interesting. It caught my attention and I'm glad it did. Don't clean it up, Ryan , I love walking around outside and looking at the wood, its beautiful and you're very talented.
