It's reminiscent of the power weilded by Poor, Hay, Connell, Lindsley, and Schoenbeck. The residents got tired of their machinations and voted them out. This new five needs to go also.
Other than remove a City Attorney collecting a $200k a year paycheck from his drinking buddies at City Hall, and attempting to be somewhat fiscally responsible, what is it that gets you so hard about those guys?

Please. No need to attack me. The voters voted them out.

The fact is, it was not the city clerk's job to do that! If there is a problem with someone not paying their personal property or real estate taxes, a complaint needed to be filed with the Department of Revenue. Once received by the Department of Revenue, they would investigate the complaint and if a delinquency was found, notify the candidate and the candidate would be given 30 days to pay the delinquency. That is what the statute says, at least the part that Diane failed to include in her letter to Mr. Missey.
Her job is to certify the ballot. And you think he didn't contact the DOR. You aren't filled in on the whole story. I thought she didn't either. Turns out she did it right.

As for Mullins, a carbon check does not prove payment of anything. She has authority over the municipal bill and to remove him from the ballot for it. So, Matt said he paid it just before he filed (even though he is trying to use a carbon check as proof which won't hold up in any court). Neither you nor Matt have ever answered my question. What are you both avoiding?

What date did Mullins file for office?

So...this Shaun guy's excuse for not paying personal property tax is that he didn't know he had to? Do y'all really want a guy to represent you who doesn't know he owes taxes on what he owned January 1 of a given year?
I mean, really. This is one of the basics. If he doesn't know THAT (as he claims) then how in hell will he ever manage to wrap his feeble mind around more complex issues such as, oh, I dunno, paying contractors what they are owed for work performed? Knowing better than to flippantly suggest firing an employee who has filed a harrassment complaint? Knowing better than to talk about legal matters with absolutely no understanding whatsoever of how the law works outside of watching too many episodes of CSI?
The entire council has become a den of fools.
That can be remedied. Most people receive a bill when they owe taxes. Most people receive a declaration page from the county after filing for a waiver. Were there any sent? This can be straightened out, it's not that complicated. Also the clerk is not the judge, jury and executioner. The process should have been followed. Did anyone file a complaint against Mr. Missey with the Department of Revenue? Did the Department of Revenue investigate and inform Mr. Missey of the amount of his alleged delinquency? As soon as that would happen, he would still get thirty days to satisfy the debt and remain on the ballot. So the real question is do you want a city clerk who doesn't follow the law as written? It is a fact that two other council people were allowed to remain on the ballot when they owed personal property taxes by this very same clerk!
No, actually many council members have now educated themselves as to how things are supposed to be, instead of being kept in the dark and fed BS. They are asking questions and the established hierarchy doesn't like being questioned. The status quo has been challenged and they aren't handling it very well.
The public deserves to know the whole story, not just what the propaganda machine churns out.

They don't answer because they can't argue the facts. They don't want to answer the question because it would show that Diane was in the right and their candidate was in the wrong and that the excuses they are giving for their candidate's actions are contradictory and appear to be made up. Have any of them filed a court complaint yet? Nope. Doris is pissed at me for asking the questions to get to the truth and won't answer certain ones I keep asking like the Mullins one is it because the candidate was in the wrong and by answering my question that would be exposed? I think so. Ask her why her and Hay won't answer the question. After all, she brags about transparency.

This Concerned Citizen doesn't follow anymore. This one does their own research to get the facts because BOTH sides are giving misinformation. Too bad the one side has to threaten when they are exposed for giving falsehoods and conspiracy theories.

Doris, obviously Missey KNEW that he had to pay taxes or why would he have gotten waivers every year? And why did he get a waiver every year? Is there an explanations for that? What date did Mullins file since according to Hay he paid the bill shortly before he filed to run for office? No answers will signify that the candidates were definitely in the wrong.

Oh, and Doris, you also never answered the question as to what grounds would cause Mullins to win if he filed a case in court.

Maybe I'll start another thread for questions to Doris that she hasn't answered since I'm sick of the threats, non transparency and he attitude that if you don't agree 100% then you are the sworn enemy.

Why weren't they allowed the 30 days to pay? CC you should run for office. You seem to have a perfect life. No one could dig up any dirt on you. You tell all your business as you go. No one would question if you are nuts, we all know what your about. Run, run, run, please........ You would fit right in with that group.

Candy,
You are not speaking the truth. Dian was not in the right! She and the city have NO ROLE in that determination, did you not read it? You know, I know and so does everybody else. I couldn't care less what you put out here. As I have told you, you put too much of your personal information on the internet and then you wonder why random people make fun of you. If you think Diane is the harbinger of truth, and that is where you get your information from, then you don't really care about the truth. I post facts, figures, laws, ordinances and even the contradictory opinions of our illustrious city attorney. You can believe whatever you choose, but DO NOT put words in my mouth or attribute what you think my thoughts are to me. I don't know what goes on in your mind, but you are one of the most inconsistent persons I have ever encountered. You do not speak for me, I will not speak for you. I told you, I will not argue with you, because it is like talking to a brick wall. For some reason you feel the need to drag others into your drama arena. I am not now nor have I ever been promoting conspiracy theories. I put the paperwork, laws, ordinances and links out to back up what I say. I have NOT threatened you, are you taking a page out of Phil Amato's playbook now? I don't care if you agree with me or not. I don't have to answer your questions about Mr. Mullins or Mr. Missey, those are their questions to answer. Not mine. You start whatever thread you like, just preface it with something like, it is YOUR opinion and I am not responsible for it.

Peter,
There is no 30 day timeframe unless a complaint was filed with the Department of Revenue, if they investigate and find taxes are owed, then he would have 30 days from the time they make him aware of what he owes, to get it paid. If after the 30 days he doesn't pay it, THEN he would be removed from the ballot.

See, she won't answer the simple questions and then sends me a nasty FB message saying I have massive mood swings and such. Doris, hate to break it to you, but you talk to me once every 4-6 months. You don't know me at all. We are aquaintances, not even close to friends. When I don't agree with you, you attack. All I did was ask for answers to questions and ask to know why you are refusing to answer them. When I do that you attack and accuse me of many things that are false. All you and your friends had to do was answer the questions. It's not "drama" and it's not my "drama" like you are tryin to label it. I asked questions about allegations and you and your friends are refusing to answer. Why????? Is there something to hide? Must be if you don't want to answer. And you got mad when I proved to you the Mayor paid and you weren't seeing the most current version because you had a cached page.

And just so you know, the last FB message did contain a threat. Thanks for the bullying.

Simple question. If Missy didn't know he owed taxes then why was he compelled to file for a waiver every year? What did he think the waiver for?

Here we go with the "bullying" bs again. Come on CC you are not some little kid are you. You always want to scream "threats" and "bully". Grow the f up and act like an adult. If you can't handle this forums and the debates that go with them, then have your mommy sign you off of them. I'd hate to see you harm yourself based on a threat made over a debate.

You know Doris and have for sometime now, do youreally think she is going to hurt you? Blow your freaking smoke someplace else. You truly fit into this society now days.... Bullying, lawyers, threats.........does mommy still clean you after you eat and use the potty? You give more information out on these websites about yourself then anyone. Besides, Doris that is, because she uses her name.:)

Never used the bully word or threatened legal action since i have been on in the last several months and I have proof of the threats. Looks like someone isn't telling the truth about the name thy are posting under. Confusing posts are we?

We've been acquaintances. Friends know me and I see them often. I don't talk to Doris except every 4-6 months. That isn't a friend, that's an acquaintance. If she were a friend she would have been invited to birthday parties and other events that i have at my house that I invite all my friends to. Was she? No. I guess she didn't know that because she invited me to her events, but there were reasons why I didn't attend. Oh yeah, because I didn't consider her a friend.

And I can take whatever you dish. Don't worry about me harming myself because my "friends" know I never would. And considering I've passed my fitness for duty evals, I'll say that I'm not the one you all should be worrying about.

For something to be a debate it requires you to answer questions. You are the one acting like a child. When I ask a question you go on personal attacks attacking my mental health, relationships and telling me to grow up. Why don't you grow up and learn what a debate is and answer the questions instead of threatening and attacking? You can't because then it will prove that those two candidates should t be on the ballot. Go ahead and answer the questions and prove me wrong.

Doris give it up. We all can tell you and your minions are posting under different names. You can also tell that you all think you run this chat board. Well, you do not.

I'm curious. Why don't you just answer the questions? You're making a *you know what* of yourself by not answering them. If you can't answer Concerned Citizen's questions then how can you expect us to trust you? You look like you have something to hide. Until you answer the questions you don't have my vote. And even then my vote for you is dependent on the answers you give and whether they are found to be truthful.

Concerned Citizen, keep up the good work. Just don't let the system taint you like Doris let it taint her.

Candidates for mayor and council should be homeowners in Arnold to be on the ballot. Don't need transient people on the council that are not invested in the city trying to enforce property maintenance codes on homeowners. Don't need renters on the council setting tax rates and not feeling the pain of paying property taxes.

They should take Doris Borgelt and Shawn Missy off the ballot and replace with some homeowners.

Amen!

We should also have people on the Council that can answer questions that are asked of them and don't hide anything. You cant expect them to be honest and transparent in an elected position if they can't do it in their everyday lives. Transparency in government!

Can't treat un-equals equally.

Take Doris. Can't hold a job. Can't keep her nose outta other people's business. Can't seem to do anything positive for the city. Talks bad about everybody and our fine city.

Then Counts. He's a long time successful business person in the city. He has a long record of public service. He is doing a good job leading the city despite the constant interference and nonsense from Doris.

Can't wait to vote her down in April.
