That little home town appeal was left by the wayside a looooong time ago. The powers at city hall keep bringing in more & more. It will only stop when every blade of grass is gone & covered by asphalt or concrete. And in case you hadn't noticed, if they want your house & yard they will take that to make room for more businesses.

Don't get me wrong, I like the new Arnold Commons & shop there quite a bit. However, I don't like the way the city & the developer got the land.

When your city limits contains over 20 thousand people - it's not small time anymore. And it all started when I-55 was built.

Around and about they are saying that this little "hometown" area will cover over a hundred acres. Where are they going to get this acreage? Isn't there already buildings and stuff there? Who is going to have to move? Are the Tattoo, Pawn Shop and used Car Lot destined to elimination further down the line? What about the rest of the businesses that are on the north end of Arnold? What will their fate be?

Depends on who waltzes into town with money in their hand - asking for TIF. Haven't you heard??? It's not WHAT you know - it's WHO you know.

City Hall would like nothing better than to get rid of the Tattoo Shop - the Pawn Shop - & used car lots in Arnold are a dime a dozen - lose 1? Who cares - there are still plenty to choose from.

Oh I agree I hate that they can come and take whatever they want... My daughter’s daycare was there. She had been there since she was a year old. Any parent knows how hard it is to find a good honest daycare. And one you really, truly like. I myself haven’t shopped there and wont. Not that me not shopping there is making a difference but I just can’t bring myself to do it... They made it out to be this wonderful thing.... Looks like Gravois Bluffs to me... Just smaller... and less appealing... I still shop Fenton... Arnold is getting stupid about all this building... It’s so crowded now. I have to sit on 141 everyday in traffic due to all the traffic. If I could afford the drive to work I would go further south!
