Good point, I mean really, what is a little election tampering and bruised egos between friends. Why can Shaun take a joke? Bob Sweeney and Diane were just trying to teach him a lesson, and get his ego in check. Like he thinks he can walk into their City Hall a run for a public office without their consent? The audacity that guy had....and then, just because he could not take a joke, he goes and files a lawsuit against the City? What a poor loser.....You can't just run for public office around here. That isn't going to move the City forward. You have to have an actual commitment to wealth redistribution, litigator welfare, and Corporatism if you wanna play with the big boys.
And filing a suit in Federal Court? What, like you have a problem with the fact that Sweeney can keep control of it in the Jefferson Circuit? Come on now, who ever heard of a 42 USC 1983 claim being made in Federal Court? Come on, taking it a bit far aren't you for just a little harmless election rigging and ballot tampering? Like elections were ever "far" here to begin with. ha
How about Diane and Bob just tell you they are sorry for being mean, and we just all pretend like this never happened.....and by the way, do not file suit against those APD officers who engaged in an investigation into your background either.....we just like to vet our politicians real well here in Arnold, wasn't like they violated your rights either. They were just doing what Bob told them to do......
Isn't it funny that the stupid posts come right after intelligent ones? Guess the truth hurts.

I don't get it, if you don't pay your taxes on time, you can't run for office. What's there to debate?

So just because somebody else didn't pay their taxes and still got to run for office, that makes it okay for someone else? The hypocrisy has to end somewhere doesn't it? Sounds like a sour grapes lawsuit to me

It's called election tampering. What part of that don't you understand? We don't live in Afganistan or Iraq, you expect that kind of stuff there. Are you saying it's OK to break the law repeatedly? I don't get it, are people that apathetic that they don't even care if their right to choose is being taken away, their right to a fair election? Two people can control who can run and who cannot regardless of what the law says? That's not a democratic republic, that is a dictatorship and that isn't our form of government. It is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Not for the city attorney and city clerk, by the city attorney and city clerk and for the city attorney and city clerk.

Oh Doris, the all knowing, all seeing, omnipotent one. It seems the people are tired of you and your cult trying to embarrass the City with your ridiculous lawsuits. You see corruption everywhere; everyone who disagrees with you is a crook. Try a little introspection. Try working WITH people, instead of AGAINST them.

It is common knowledge that I have never been a big fan of Doris, and I am not jumping on the Doris band wagon with this post. However, I think these lawsuits about removing people from the ballot are reasonable.

Over the past several years I have seen people removed from different ballots for different reasons. Then others you think might be are not. Now more people are. And I am not just talking locally in Arnold.

Fact, the Judicial Branch of Government is in place to make clear issues of law. It is obvious that there are some grey area that needs to be addressed. Yes, the courts will try to identify if wrongdoing took place, but it may also give election authorities more uniformed direction on how to handle these situations in the future.

So, I think the implication of the post above was that she may be behind the lawsuits. Well good on her. If not, good for the men who are asking the right questions to get this issue cleared up for the future.

Still, Wanting to See Counts come out on top in April.

Yeah, that's why she makes herself available so you can ask her questions. That's why she puts things on line for everyone to see. She tries to include the people instead of hiding from them. Open door policy, no back room deals.

I believe it and know it to be true. She answers her phone and her emails. You should try going to the coffee with council meetings, no hiding going on at all.

I agree. Coffee with Council members show how interested some Council people are in helping the citizens in ALL wards because Ward 3 does NOT care about any of its people.

You changed the subject AGAIN, Doris. You make back room deals with Moss, Klownasti, and Hohmeier. Deny it and lie.

Let's get real about this. Michelle started something and invited no one but Borgelt, Kownacki, and Cricky. If she wanted to offer the opportunity to all council representatives, she could easily have done so. This was a girls club event and saying otherwise does not make it true.

No, I am saing tat the court is the right place for this to help clear up the issue about when people can be removed from the ballot.

Counts is not the local election athority and did not have the authority to take control of the situation. Mr. Missy and others have specific courses of action available to address this issue, and they are taking it.

Please explain to me what authority you fell Mr. Counts had to take conrol of a situation under the control of the Election Authority.

Yes, Knowing the two candidates, I would rather see Mr. Counts elected.

Bill, You are so wrong in your assessment of Coffee with Council! I announced Coffee with Council in the middle of a Council meeting. The first one was also posted in the Leader and on Patch. I HAVE NEVER EXCLUDED ANYONE!!! I never said only "these council members" can come. All you had to do was show up. But it's obvious that you're only interested in the concerns of certain members of our community, not all.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, however an individual may look at it, I understand you will be gone for the next one that will be on April 10th.

Coffee with Council is for everyone in Arnold. I don't care what Ward you live in or your "political" affiliations. I brought the idea forward to hear the concerns of everyone, good or bad. And to brainstorm for ideas to improve our community.

The thing is, we have a mix of people who show up, some are long time residents, who are tired of the same goings on in City Hall, some are newer folks, who would like their voice to be heard and don't feel that it happens. I guess it's a "birds of a feather" situation. This is an open forum unlike City Hall.

As I said, the next Coffee with Council will be April 10th in the Jaycees room at the Library from 9a - 11a. Let's see who shows up.

Michelle: This idea to have all residents from all Wards come to have their voices and concerns heard is the best thing since sliced bread. Finally someone is willing to hear what concerns are. Yes, only certain council people come. The important thing is that voices can be heard and not be ridiculed.

Does the mayor not lead the city of Arnold? Do you believe for one second he didnt know what was going on? Does Sweeney not answer to the mayor or does he just do what ever the hell he likes? I'm a bit confused how you feel he had no controll? If you boss at work is asked to do a project and he delicates some of the work to you and you screw it up, who do you think takes the fall for that from the higher ups? Well of couse your boss will until he gets ahold of you. Same exact thing. The mayor should take some of this heat. There are three law suits happens right now. The mayor is named in one and two of them he knew about. You think he sould be mayor? If he can't control this nonsense what can he control? I would have to guess more money has been wasted under his years of mayor then the eight years prior. My guess is Waller is taking the fall for what she was told to do by the "acting" mayor if you will. Therefore, Counts needs to go. And..... So does the "acting" mayor Sweeney!
