You have been given the chance to see it yet you refuse. Makes me think that you don't want to see it because you know it will prove your allegations false so as long as you don't see it you feel it is okay to further trash him on here.
Also sounds like you are out to try to make him lose his job. I think you feel like you have a score to settle with him. I'm hoping he shows at the next council session and puts on record that he has showed those papers to EACH council member so Doris and her supporters (like you) will be proven wrong and will leave him alone.
I think you don't understand the true issue. Mr. Evans has disrespected true disabled veterans with his fudging of the truth about his status and his discharge. He can't have it both ways, either he ducked out so he didn't get a dishonorable discharge due to DADT or he didn't. Either he has a disability directly attributable to his service or he doesn't. He is a member of the VFW or he isn't. He is a member of the VFW Auxiliary or he isn't. Was his service duty spent interning for a PAC or not? These are all things he has put in print, people just want to know which of his statements are actually true as they all seem to be contradictory.

So you can be respectful. I am very proud of you.

Well, he has offered to show you the documents, so why don't you take him up on it?

Too bad, so sad, truth hurts, his own words and actions coming back to haunt him. Defend if you will, but you're just a shill and he hasn't a leg to stand on.

I'd like to know when combat injuries are considered to be the only service injury.
I was injured and I was not in combat, but I was in the Navy at the time. I got a severe gash on my hand and it got infected. They couldn't find an antibiotic that worked until they cultured it and by then it had damaged the joint and ligament in my finger and rendered it useless. Antibiotics weren't what they are today at that time. It was a service injury and I receive a very small amount of disability for it along with my VA benefits.
I saw something about attacks on this veteran. Who is attacking him?

I was honorably discharged. Upon separation, your medical records are reviewed by a VA rep. and, I receive notification almost a year after about my service connected disability. Some Veterans file claims years later...Also,while you are on duty, you do live training exercises, and other activities, so not every "service connected disability" is from a combat situation. SO, yes, I can and do have it both ways...And, while in the military, during my off duty time, I was able to put in a few hours a week on Capitol Hill as an intern for Dick Gephardt due to my proximity to DC. I'm in the VFW Auxiliary # 2593, where I serve as a trustee...

Jim, Thanks for your service and your post...some, think the only way you can have a SCD, is from direct combat. Folks, forget that you are essentially govt. property, and anything that medically happens to you while on service, is considered SCD...Mike

While I also have a service connected disability, I don't wear it on my sleeve as a badge of honor. As a matter of fact, there is no one that even knows what it is or that I have it. And although your description of what can constitute a non combat disability, like mine, you never outright said that was the case with you. You danced around the subject without any specifics. You said earlier you'd be happy to show your DD 214. Well, post it on your blog. Is it your original 214 or the re-applied for changed one later? And quit embarrassing the humble veterans that served honorably, followed the UCMJ that was in effect at the time, got honorably discharged, and go about life without expecting special treatment for it!

So, you initially bailed to avoid being drummed out under DADT as you told The Vital Voice here: http://www.zoominfo.com/CachedPage/... and then a year later, you were able to use connections to get a DD214 reissued showing a valid disability reason? Interesting.....so this was a disability which you had no idea about until they called you a year later, after you had discharged by your own admission to avoid a dishonorable under DADT? That sounds like a Gephardt specialty....just trying to reconcile your previous statements with your currents statements as they seem quite contradictory. Were you lying then or lying now?

Sounds like Doris trying to make something up again to make Mike look bad. Get a life and quit picking on the veterans no matter who they are. You will not get the veteran vote after this. I plan to inform my fellow VFW members of your act and subsequent actions showing you're a fake.

And it's none of you're business.

I don't blame him for not releasing it. You just want to defame him. I don't know what you "think" he did to you, but your character speaks wonders when it comes to harassing veterans.

I'm pretty sure Borgelt works well with the Veterans.Just ask Roy Wilde what he thinks of her. Everyone on here that thinks like Doris or supports her is "her" right? Wrong. I've seen mike in action not really what I'd call mature? His Veteran status? Who gives a rats. I would never vote for him in an election so I could careless about his credentials.

Ding ding ding, I think you too have joined the dumb club with a few others. Mike has ran in a few other elections. I have never voted for him and if he decides to run again, I will not vote for him. What's so hard for you to understand? I pretty sure from just reading a couple post of yours, you must be a charm to live with. I won't waste anymore time on you, because I pretty sure your elevator isn't going to the top. If ya know what I mean.
