Seems to me the whole point of this thread has lost ,I dont care about throwing candy , I dont care how thick the politicians skins is, and I really dont care who can spell and who cant, My problem was and still is the past years carnivals , Mr. Wildcat sir , If I hold a community event and serve tainted hotdogs to all of the kids ,and put them in dangerous situations, and when Im called on it and asked why,and my response is QUOTE: as usual bash the city for trying to put on an event for the community....never gonna be perfect...never gonna please.... would you call me a politician ? would it be fair for me to call you a troublemaker , when all you are doing is looking out for the safety of the kids whos parents trust in me and dont really know any better , Well Im telling you now , that is my agenda , I just dont want to see the same old ass carnival with questionable employees , we have witnessed it , and if the same ones show up again , that just tells me that whoever is bringing them in would feed our kids tainted hotdogs and not lose any sleep over it...who="Wildcat"]as usual bash the city for trying to put on an event for the community....never gonna be perfect...never gonna please....i have thicker skin than all of you...trust me...! have a great day

Snaz In one respect I agree with Wildcat. It really doesn't matter what the City or those who put on Arnold Days does someone will not agree with them. I am 68 years old and remembering back to the carnivals I went to as a kid most of the carny people looked dirty then too. The people who put on Arnold Days has to hire a carnival to come in they can afford. Someone mentioned a good one that was in South County but when approached these people didn't want to come to Arnold because it was not a big enough event for them to waste their time on. Now I guess another solution would be for the Arnold Days not to hire a carnival to come in at all and make it more like the 4th of July with only inflatables. They could also just say no more Arnold Days in the future.(Boy I could just hear the complaints if they did either of those two things.) The fact is that no matter what the people who put on Arnold Days do there will be complaints. If people don't like the looks of the rides or the people operating those rides then we all as parents and grandparents need to keep the kids off those rides. If we notice any bad behavior on the part of the carnival workers then we need to contact one of the police officers etc. and make a complaint. Don't wait to make the complaint after the carnival has left town. I do believe that those putting on Arnold Days are trying to make this a fun event for the people in Arnold. |

Also, maybe this year during the parade or before, we could ask people not to litter the streets and sidewalks along the parade route. It really looks bad with all of that trash left behind. Maybe some trash barrels would help? The best way to alleviate thisproblem would be to try to prevent it in the first place.

Yes ,the answer that I expected, I mean no disrespect to anyone .but it is the true Arnold solution, either wait till the pothole is too deep to drive thru ,and someone gets hurt in it ,or just shut down the road.

Doris,
I agree with asking the people not to litter and maybe putting up some trash barrels along the parade route. People bring food or purchase it at the local fast food places along the route and the wrappers go in the street. |

I was in South County today and saw the carnival they have set up there. It looks really large and the rides were much newer than we usually see. It would be great if Arnold could get a carnival that modern and large. I do not think Arnold could afford to pay a carnival of that size to come to Arnold. I also do not think the owner of the carnival would want to bring it to Arnold Days as they would not make the money they make someplace like the shopping center. It would be nice to have such a carnival come in but don't think the city could afford them. |
