Be a yes man love to suck up to say it nice enjoy strip clubs and for others to boost your ego like you are in a important position. Be ready to spend the tax payers money in order to boost your own business and being a business owner enjoy free health insurance on the bill of the tax payer. Make sure you are collecting disability or be a business owner who pays the disabled people under fraud under the table. Can you do that?

Contact the Herkimer County board of elections. They will lead you in the right direction. Run only if you have the communities best interest at heart. Realize you won't gain any friends and always, always be honest and forthright.

Well it looks like Stephens and Neale set the board up to get Beth voted in as mayor. Doesn't anyone realize what a time bomb she is? She is a druggy ex-bartender that doesn't have a rational thought in her head. She then appoints someone that has set on the board for 5 weeks to be deputy mayor. Can someone explain how that makes sense? She's another disabled mayor who has no filter and no doubt will do even more to make our dire situation worst. Add in Gookins and Lester and you now have a circus. Well Ilionite's what are you going to do about all this craziness? Speak out, attend meetings and more importantly take back your community.

Unfortuantely, to be apppointed mayor you have to be sitting on the board as a trustee. The Village Board would do the appointing as they have done, appointing Beth Neale 3-1. The vacant position will be filled in the same manner with the VB making that decision and appoiintment. There is an open election in June. It is unfortunate that more community members do not take interest in their village and dedicate thier time and effort. If you are truly interested, let someone on the board know. It is difficult to find anyone interested in local government. It is a commitment, that will impact your personal life. Good luck!

When are you people going to realize that this so-called "republican" beth neale or john the-paid-but-totally-disabled former mayor are not republicans...that's just what they designated, knowing most all of ilion only votes along party lines and does not bother looking up anyone's voting record (located in the library)! Ilion doesn't really care, do they? When there are people in our gov't. who don't raise taxes, or raise them a little (because of pensions, salaries and are mandated by the State), you guys vote in someone else without bothering to realize just how good you had it. You voted in Stephens, along with a barmaid, etc. Didn't you just have two members of the board bail on Ilion to take larger paid positions in the county? That's their only concern, how much public jobs they can get so they can either pad their already overblown pensions and take in more money and other benefits. Most of these people have only worked in government and know what a plum place it is to work, along with working in the schools! Take a look at the salaries in the village...most of you with educations don't make as much as a high-school grad.that works in the village! Their salaries are way overblown. I believe only one person has a 4-yr. degree; the rest just keep getting raises because they have been sucking off the taxpayer for many, many years...they are therefore, entitled to get raises. Keep voting in your friends who have no business running a business. You must all think the village is just a social club...it's very serious and should have qualified people running it...but you just don't get it. Keep electing nimrods and your taxes will always go up, like they have with Stephens. I looked up when taxes rose...a lot. They're usually under mayors who are "democrats," not republicans, although some of them did. Stop listening to BS and look up the records yourself...you'll be surprised, or if you are smart, you won't be surprised.. Look at Mayor Gilmartin's record....your taxes skyrocketed over his 4 years! Now, look at the record of Stephens...taxes raised all the time! That's because they believe everything they are shown on paper (which is usually bullshit) or are told by the employees (usually their campaign workers, too). They aren't smart enough to check to see if they are being told the truth and then they must raise taxes to meet the ever-increasing whining of the workers' who want raises...and they get them. How often have you gotten a raise?. I encourage every resident of Ilion to look up the salaries and benefits of these people. Then you might want to ask yourself if it's worth you or your kids going to college. Government and education are the scam artists of our time. Check it out It will make you sick and very angry. But, of course, the majority of voters in this area do work for government or schools as they have forced everything else out of business with these high taxes, so we'll likely see our taxes rise and rise as they always vote for mayors, etc who will raise taxes so they get salary increases! Most employment in this region is government, so what can people who don't work there expect? A kick in the rearend and more and more taxes to pay for these people...and there are lots of them! We need to cut the size of government and the salaries should match private companies pay and educational requirements. Used to be their salaries were less, but they got better benefits. Now their salaries are much higher, with benefits out the wazoo and guaranteed pension checks for the rest of their lives...much better than everyone else. Pretty soon, they'll run out of hamburger flippers to pay their outrageous salaries and Benefit packages! A free, long ride on the taxpayer! Zippadeedoodah!

The Valley and Herkimer County are dominated by a dying political party. Albany could care less about a backward area that will continue to vote for the dying party. Ilion is just part and parcel of a political party that is relegated to regional power as they continue to alienate every major voting block. When redistricting changes and their voter suppression efforts are thrown out, the end is near! Welcome to the 21st Century!
