How convenient that the students and were allowed by the teachers, who were allowed to allow it by Tangorra, to vote on the name Central Valley Academy, which was corrected by the DOE to Central Valley Central School District because Academy can only be used if everything is in one building. Here's the kicker: Central Valley is a hamlet by New York City. Central Valley's median household income is roughly $90,000. The average home price in Central Valley, NY is well over $300,000. Needless to say, Central Valley's schools, including Central Valley Elementary School, are top notch. Coincidence? Hmmmm... Now Tangorra can tell any future employer that he is or was the unifying Superintendent of the Central Valley schools, and use the name for bragging rights. Confusing, Tangorra also mentioned today: "It is important to adopt a district name as quickly as possible". Perhaps he is referring to it being the foundation of a new identity, but perhaps he really wants it to be adopted quickly before anyone in Central Valley has a chance to find out what is going on up here in Ilion and reminds the DOE that their name is already taken by them. Central Valley's school is officially the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District, but it includes Central Valley Elementary School, which of course is in Central Valley, NY. I have told people how Tangorra looks out for numero-uno (himself) first, using the "benefit of whatever he is working on" as a cover. But nobody wants to hear it, and nobody wants to see the illicit things he did as superintendent before either. Maybe residents up here never even know Central Valley, NY exists. Or maybe everyone here is so brainwashed that nobody cares. Obviously the students who voted didn't know there is a village named Central Valley in NY, with a Central Valley Elementary School already in existence. How would they know if the head honcho neglects to tell them. Look at it any way you want, but you are being taken for a ride. Hope you buckle up. If I were you I would confront the state and tell them if it is about getting your own identity, don't name us what already exists in NYS. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And Tangorra is laughing all the way to the bank. But keep defending him people, since it seems you are all his followers anyway. Good luck.

Interesting how the teachers involved didn't have the kids do actual research. Don't schools do that anymore?
no way

Not in a tizzy. Just letting people know what is going on and showing them how they are being played without even realizing it.

You very obviously have a "thing" for Mr. Tangorra, a love/hate situation?

Here's an idea, since you voted "no merger" for Herkimer and got what you wanted, keep your nose out of other peoples business.

Stay in your failing village, with your failing school system and enjoy your life. You sound like a very bitter and sad person. Take your demeaning efforts on here and use them for good, like helping save Herkimer which is soon to be taken over by NYS.

Now that things have begun to crumble in Herkimer, people will be exiting and buying homes elsewhere. Where will that leave your already dwindling school system? As the tax base gets smaller, what happens to programs and positions? Whats already been cut or is being cut for the next school year?

Worry about Herkimer, Don't be concerned about Ilion/Mohawk, or should I say Central Valley School District. We are now united as one and support our school and one another, you should have tried it, feels good to progress!

Actually, it is Central Valley Central School District. Doesn't sound so good that way does it! But call it what it officially is. That's why it makes no sense. It took the name of another town and used it for their own. Just makes them look incompetent. But if that's the look they're going for, I guess they got it right!

No, actually the NYSED Dept came back and said the district would be called Central Valley School District and the high school would be called Central Valley Academy. But, then again it really does matter and is our business, not anyone in Herkimer.

By the way, there are other Herkimers' in the country, better change your village and school name.

Not quite. Tell the truth. The state only wants the central school to be called what it is - a central school district. Cos is the one who is in a rush and just wants to combine Central Valley with Central School District instead of doing the vote over. He doesn't care that it sounds idiotic to have the word "Central" in the name twice.

Cos will make a lot more mistakes because he is in such a rush. Does anyone remember how before the vote Tangorra said there was plenty of time to get things done. Famous last words.

Mohawk didn't miss a day of school after the fire. This merger won't miss a beat either. I sincerely hope this fact doesn't bother you.
