Yes we're sick of deceptive fuel price signs

Yes I'm sick of unpriced store items / high prices

Yes they needlessly cut down trees in Ilion

Stewarts gas is cheaper than Fastrac 'discount'

Yes Fastrac is a lousy corporate citizen

I sure will -- Stewarts is much better & cheaper

I sure will -- any store is better than Fastract

Yes REALLY of bait and switch fuel price signs!

Who cares all convenience stores are the same

good idea, heard at the bowling alley, boycott these greedy corporate Fastrac FKKS and their bait and switch gas price signs!

so if you're from out of town and looking for gas you see the big Fastrac sign for $3.71 / gal or whatever and think,

'that's not too bad'

.... and only after you fill up do you find $3.71 / gal is the "discount" price for "discount" card holders. the REAL price is 15 cents higer -- hidden in the small print!

And then you find out Stewarts REGULAR gas price is LESS than Fastract 'Discount' price! LOL.

Sick of Fastrac! Boycotting the new store when it opens!

Big reason missing from the poll -- FastTrac demands to see your ID to buy cigarettes or beer even if you're like 50 years old.

that's the reason i never go there. i don't appreciate Fastrac invading my privacy. plus it slows down the line.

It's the law to ID you dumbass! They can tell some people are of age, however they can get fined if they get caught if they do not ID even if it is clear you are over 21! All merchants that sell is suppoe to ID.

They are not required by law to scan your ID into their Corporate Big Brother Database, moron.

Don't you think that's an invasion of privacy? Why should any convenience store have a right to my name and street address for a simple purchase? What do they use my information for? Who do they sell it to? Do you trust corporations?

The law forbids stores to sell cigarettes and beer to minors. It does NOT require that IDs be scanned. Go somewhere else and buy beer or cigarettes -- does the clerk scan your ID? NO.

Does the clerk even ask for your ID if you are clearly of age? NO.

I swear to Christ, some of the people on this site are dumber than a bag of rocks.

Here we have a company blatantly invading customer privacy, and some twit says, "Still beign carded, be flattered and kwitcherbitchin."

Any how I completely agree, BOYCOTT THE FASTRAC -- in Ilion, Herkimer, Mohawk, wherever!

Why boycott? It looks like a sweet new joint and it's huge. Anyone know if there is going to be a pizza place or something in it?

The place is huge, and the best new thing to come to Ilion, in a long time. There will be a pizza joint with local delivery. they will make chicken wings, and also an in store bakery. Wait till you see the glow this place brings to the area.

oh wow, boy o boy ... A PIZZA JOINT ????

How cool, we don't have hardly any pizza joints around here!

And wings, great! There is no place around here to get wings!

Ilion and everything around it is just one big disappointment after another. We have this clown posting that a convenience store is "the best thing to come to Ilion in a long time." I'm sorry, but that is just plain sad.

The stupidity and banality that prevails around here is enough to make you scream.

And scream and scream and scream and scream.

So what do you have to ad, that has improved this area ? Investment is what saves a neighborhood. This is a huge investment. Maybe the neighborhood will feel renewed and invest in itself. One thing leads to another. Instead of bitching why not try to join the bandwagon ? Colonial Laundry is another investment. New clean facilities to make people feel better.

Why not do something to make the sunshine over you brighter, and feel better about yourself ?

You're a freaking idiot. A laundromat does little to enrich the area. Another disappointment -- space wasted that might have been something better. But, with all the brokeass folk around here, it will probably do brisk business.

I'll "join your bandwagon" when and patronize a business when it offers something that interests me. I'll gladly spend my money -- that's what I'll add -- but not on a convenience store that deceptivelu advertises fuel prices and invades the privacy of people who want to buy beer or smokes by scanning IDs into the corporate database.

Another pizza place? Really? That is just ... <shakes head>.

Why not a burrito place, like the Burrito Jonz or Burrito Blues places in Utica? Chipotle is a large national chain that probably wouldn't locate in podunk backwards Ilion, but Chipotle's model is easily copied.

Um freaking duh there are ZERO burrito places in the valley, as in, NO COMPETITION. Done right, it would do a very good business.

It's also pretty obvious that a Wendy's would do a good business in the Valley, but there isn't one.

Why build a pizza place when there are literally dozens in the Valley? That just reeks of a lack of imagination, and plain stupidity. And why cut those trees down? A88hole.

Or maybe this isn't a "pizza place" per se, but a rack of pizza slices like they had for sale at the Herkimer Fastrac before I stopped patronizing all Fastracs, except once in a great while.

That Herkimer Fastrac pizza sucked, BTW. Nice n Easy slices are much better.

Well I guess you will be one of the people not in my way at the register.

Bye the way, if you are so smart as to the Valley's needs, Why don't you capitalize on your brilliance? You seem to dream very well, so lay your head down and pray for tomorrow. Cause your dreams of lastnight, will never come true.

Guess if you can't provide ID they were doing their job. I personally knew and liked all the people working there. Many times I heard the crap they put up with from the punks and drunks. I said many times that I couldn't take that from them. But they just blew off the losers. How much do you think they are supposed to take? I for one went there because of the employees, and hope they come back with the new store.

Remember you get what you give, and you sound like you got yours. Look around Ilion and tell me how much you could take. Welcome bach Fastrac and hurry up that grand opening.

People!

A reminder to beware the high gasoline costs at the Fastrac!

all convenience stores are NOT the same! Example, Sunday morning 11/20:

3.61 gal at Nice n Easy

3.66 gal at Fastrac Mohawk

this is not an aberration, this is typical pricing for Fastrac!

How do they get away with this?

Easy!

They put out a big sign advertising the alleged "Discount" price on top($3.61 -- same as the >real< price at Nice 'n Easy!) while using a little itty bitty sign at the bottom to disclose the "real" price.

don't let yourself be duped by this cynical bait-and-switch tactic!

moreover, don't support this Fastrac chain and its underhanded policies!

that's a nickel a gallon. difference amounting to:

$1 every fill-up with 20-gallon tank.

$2 a week as I fill up twice a week

$10 a month difference, or pretty darn close

$100 bucks a year, holy crap!

there you go folks --

if you want to piss away $100 a year, buy your gas at Fastrac!
