Which of the candidates have relatives that are school employees? I know Bill Lennox's wife is a school nurse and Jim Vitale's wife is a teacher at Remington. Are there any others?

While it is not illegal for a Board member to have an employee spouse, it causes unnecessary problems. A Board member can't supervise his wife's boss without influencing the boss's decisions. It would also be questionable whether the Board member would divulge confidential employee disciplinary matters to his wife about her colleages. And then there is the problem of a board member benefiting finacially from voting for a contract that is generous.

What else is new, the Village has many employees past and present related to Mayors, Board members(Fire Chief, Animal Control)or Department Heads. Then their Ethics Committeee is made up of the Mayor, Trustees, Department Heads and employees. The very people who may be under investigation.
It's called takeing care of your own. You've heard of the friends and family plan haven't you?

This is not new, but what we need is something new. The taxpayers need to stop voting for BOE candidates with connections and personal agendas. This time around there is the opportunity with 21 candidates to choose from.

The 21 candidates is a great thing, however it more than likely is an anomaly. As far your discription of the taxpayers, a large percentage of them are employed by the School district.
This fact alone lends itself to Board members being elected in large part with " connections" and "personal agendas".All that can be done to help deminish this is for more private sector revitilization and employment in the area.
Until then it is self preservation.

Since he works for a different school district, it's not a conflict of interest.
