What can you do to clean up Ilion?
Ilion used to be a very nice village! Over the years it just has gone down hill.
It seems like Ilion is always in the news for something bad! Very sad where Ilion has gone!
Enforce Codes

It would help if we enforced the codes that are on the books. We have a large number of people that take no pride in how their property looks. The Fire Chief is responsible for codes enforcement. We don't have a large number of fires so put your time to good use and help the violators know that their laziness won't be tolerated.

Maybe if Ilion didn't have over all the towns grant money to the Frankfort Residents to take up shop here in the Village, they could possibly help out their own people for once.

The filthiest bar in Ilion is the Elks Club, and can't see them going anywhere.

instead of buying a 30 pack spend it on paint, and paint maybe your porch, something how do you people live like that and don't tell me your renting because that's no excuse then move to a nicer place it might mean for you to get a job paint is cheap!

For all the unemployed welfare scum..maybe they could learn how to paint a house...then the residents could pay them in crack and not currency...if there is any paint left you could pour it on the welfare scum and then kick them right between the legs...just a thought.

If everyone does there part, Ilion can become what it used to!

Keep your yard mowed and get rid of stuff in your yard you don't need! They pick up trash and garbage each week!

Don't through garbage or cig butts on the ground! Put garbage cans and butt cans in front of stores so people can use them rather than the ground.

Help your neighbor if they can't do things!

These are just little things we can do each day to help the village!

Sex Offenders should be put in a certain town all together so they are not in our neighborhoods! Should have to check in weekly to a group so they can be monitored. If they don't make check in's they get sent to jail! These people are not monitored enough!

Public Assistance - If they are on DSS, they should have to work for the county doing things. We have people on DSS because of hard times and I totally understand things happen but we are giving them free money to live! They should work for it! Fill pot holes, cover graffiti, rake leaves, mow lawns, shovel etc....... Clean up Russell Park, clean up from all the floods....Help the people that can't do the things that need to be done!

Drug Dealers are all around us and the police know of them! Why don't they get them off the streets and in jail? Even if it is for weed, it is an illegal drug! The drugs are being sold to our kids!
Drug Dealers bring in alot of crap into our village! Get them out and we can have it back!

I've been here all my life (ain't no spring chicken) and this town gets worse EVERY MONTH !

I get around the valley regularly and Ilion is truly the pit of the valley.

I AM ASHAMED TO SAY I AM FROM HERE.

WHY DOES ILION ATTRACT THE VAST MAJORITY OF LOW-LIFES ??? SOME MUST BE RAISED HERE BUT THERE'S A TON THAT MIGRATED HERE OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS.

WHAT THE HELL GIVES ???

AND WHATEVER IS ATTRACTING THEM, LET'S CHANGE IT.

TRULY DISAPPOINTING AND DEVASTATING !

What the heck do sex offenders and drug dealers have to do with the way our village looks??? I think "resident, street cleaners and thinking" spend a little too much time worrying about issues the average citizen cannot do a thing about. Let the legal system take care of those problems and let everyone else take care of their own problems and maybe help others who are not as able. The title of this topic is clean up, not clean out. There are plenty of citizens who are not drug dealers, not sex offenders, not on social service programs and not drinkers who do not take care of their surroundings. How about contacting the public eye reporter from the Observer dispatch? Would that not shame the lazy.

they both make towns look worse. You can look up towns you want to move to and see exactly how many sex offenders live there and where(streets)-their names also. You can find out average crime rate also. What decent people would move to a place with poor ratings?
