Wow, I heard that Mr.(little man syndrome)Aulston arrested a firefighter on a bs call, and I did not believe it untill I read it here in the J.A., geeze Officer Aulston, can't you find anything better to do??

I am not sure why we are blaming the police for arresting someone for domstic violence. There is no discretion for the police with domestic violence, they have to arrest. From what I am hearing, the officers and one of Mr. Schmittling's friends (an off duty cop) witnessed the incident that landed him in jail. Maybe he should quit drinking so much and take an anger management class or two to help him out. I don't see how this can be blamed on the police!

So what that he is a firefighter?! They're not above the law and the police shouldn't treat them any differently then anyone else. There's no "brotherhood" when it comes to domestic violence. Wow - it is amazing that all of you think you have never had a problem and you are perfect. Schmittling just got caught on a bad night - we've all had them. Maybe you should ask the "victim" of the "domestic violence" how she feels. I am sure she knows Schmittling for what he really is. Unless you know the details of that night don't suppose you know what is going on.

Just a thought, maybe Mr. Schmittling should grow up and act like an adult while out in public. Then maybe, just maybe he could discard his baby booties and put on some adult size shoes and people MIGHT be willing to walk a day or two in them. Well there was no smacking around. You can ask either party. There was not even any physical contact so keep your assumptions to yourself. Ive seen the police report and you can also read it. It will show you that this "smack people around" is just another version of someone talking DRAMA!!! So dont listen to all that you hear cause things always get skewed when you listen to what everyone else says. but i thought we were all adults and that everyone elses business wasnt our concern.

How many other times did this happen before he got caught? Few people ever get caught the very first (or only) time they lose their temper.

Zach is innocent until proven guilty. If he is found guilty I hope he is terminated from the F.D. Weather guilty or not he has shown very poor judgement and I hope he is disciplined.
