Kids around the nation will take a stand against tobacco on Wednesday, April 5 for the 11th-annual Kick Butts Day. More than 2,000 events are planned in all 50 states. (Which way do you think these future voters will vote when it comes to smoking bans? It isn't hard to figure out!) |

ill smoke illegal or not
|

Thank the stars, smoking in public will probably not be legal in the very near future. As a smoker, your world is becoming smaller and smaller. |

Laugh now you idiots, later they will ban fast food.where is your freedom.

Where I live in Gwinnett County GA, we`ve had a smoking ban for at least 10 years. If you are a smoker like me it`s not the end of the world. Even if you are at a sports bar or something you get used to going outside for a smoke. I`ve smoked for over 25 years and I can go into a restaurant with my wife and kids and have a meal and a couple drinks and can wait till we leave. No problem. I grew up in Mingo County.

Dangerous
Once we people as a society decide that we are willing to invade the privacy of personal space (businesses, homes, jobs, cars & within open public space) and interfere with personal autonomy in decision-making merely in order to address behaviors that may or may not increase the risk of illness, we have removed the last barrier from the complete intrusion of the government into all aspects of each of our personal lives. There is hardly anything that we do, or in any decision we make, that does not in some way affect our health risks. Every aspect of our behavior and every decision we make, could be subject to government regulation once we break down this barrier of invading freedom, privacy and removing autonomy regarding behaviors that may or may not affect health risks. Definition of Autonomy: (Greek: Auto-Nomos - nomos meaning "law": one who gives oneself his own law) means freedom from external authority. Autonomy is a concept found in moral, political, and bioethical philosophy. Within these contexts it refers to the capacity of a rational individual to make an informed, uncoerced decision. |

Per what has transpired with this new law, it appears anyone with a dislike or is narrow minded can ‘go get a law’. I therefore suggest
We outlaw the colors RED as it makes some people mad, nervous &/or angry; PINK as it makes some people nauseated; BLACK as many think it is depressing and others relate it to the devil; SILVER as it makes people feel cold. AND, We get a list of everything that makes people sick, things people are allergic to and things people don’t like and outlaw them all. Therefore we will find many people allergic tree pollen and we will have to outlaw TREES, while others are allergic to dust and dirt and therefore the EARTH would have to be banned. |

From another forum worth a read.
nemo3 1 wrote Flouride in water, actually it is florine, a waste product of the phosphate (fertilizer) industry. They reprocess it and sell it to local water porvides. When removed from the site as a waste product it is required to be hauled of to sights that accept hazardous materials. Most people think they are having clinical fouride in the water. NOT! As per the antis dangers of second hand smoke relative risk 1.3. Florine in water 1.4. Male children 4-12 getting bone cancer from florine exposure drinking water 4.07. FLORINE IN WATER 25% MORE DANGEROUS THAN TOBACCO SMOKE! FLORINE IN WATER INCREASES CANCER IN KIDS BY 400%. Based on the science used by the antis for second hand smoke. These are accurate. In case any one is wondering the relative risk for chlorinated water is, it's 1.5. CHLORINATED WATER IS 40% MORE DANGEROUS THAN TOBACCO SMOKE. |

I think it is terrible and a sick thing for smokers who aren't able to resist smoking in a restaraunt. Someone in the rest. may have asthma. It is also sickening for people to go into a grocery store and smoke around the fruits and vegetables. |

Thanks, but I sure keep em busy. Of coure that may be good,it may be the only excerise some of them get. Well that plus reaching for and lighting another cigarette. lol |
No, we are not down to that. What we are doing is pointing out that the ANTIS, like you and candid, keep saying smokers are low class, uneducated, trailer trash. However, it's quite plain to see that uneducated people also reside in the ANTI class. Obvious typing errors are irrevelant. But the spelling and grammer of a lot of the "high class, educated" ANTIS is atrocious. I will point it out when it is felt to be necessary. |

I was told 2 weeks ago I have lung cancer I have never smoked. My parents did, my friends did, but I didn't, now I am the one with cancer. I hate going out to eat just to have someone next to me light up. I have put up with smoking all my life now it time for me to stand up and say "it time for clean air in all builds'.
It will not kill you smoker to leave the building to smoke. Go to your cars, go home, just please remember your children are in the room with you when you smoke, second hand smoke kill too |
|
coco, hopefully you are getting good treatment and have good medical facilities near you. Be strong and you can beat this. Please keep in touch via this forum. And if you feel strongly about it, keep spreading the message that non-smokers should not be exposed to tobacco smoke. |

Have your home checked for radon. Radon is the likely culprit. |
