The John North Cemetery is not located at Big Branch, it is located on Big Valley Road which use to be called the Big Fork Road.

I can't stand it when people get their facts wrong. There are 3 cemeteries on this road, 2 (Jones Cemetery & Clarence Osborne Family Cemetery ) are on one side & the John North Cemetery is located on the other side. They all sit on the top of what is known as the Graveyard Hill. These cemeteries have been documented several times & have all been documented as the John North Cemetery. I wish people would get their facts straight.

Thanks for the info ... now all you have to do is correct every ancestry search site on the Internet... they all state Big Branch Road.

I've done a lot of research on Russell Ruck also and they all state Big Branch Road. But upon this research they all linked back to 2 people. They should be the ones to correct this. I know they were asked, because I asked them myself to correct it. They just laughed. I am a firm believer if you are doing family research you need to document it correctly or it isn't the truth.

You can get to Big Valley Rd. by taking the spur, turn right onto Bull Creek Rd. go past the Thousandsticks Fire Dept. till you come to a bridge that goes over the parkway. This is Big Valley Rd. take it about 2 miles, you will go up a BIG mountain the cemetery is at the top. It is on the right side of the road. It has a chain link fence around it. His grave is unmarked except by a stone but it is next to his son Jackson Sizemore.

Yes Russell Ruck is buried next to Jackson. His grave is unmarked for now but I know the plans are in the works to get his as well as others on the cemetery with markers. This cemetery has come a long way in the last couple of years. I am proud of the people who take care of it.

Guess that's what you get for relying on other peoples information instead of researching it on your own. Guess it too much hard work to do it yourself.

What do you think the Internet is for, ridiculing people and making derogatory remarks? For those who donít live on the ancestral doorstep it isnít very easy to do first hand research. We have to depend of those who have ready access to the required information. It would have taken you the same amount of keystrokes to provide useful information instead of being a wisea$$.

I agree, you can get a lot of info from the internet. I do a lot of research from it also but I also know that a lot of what is out there is incorrect also. I have been researching my ancestry for over 20 years and have traveled all over searching. I enjoy it but even the census takers of years ago made a lot of mistakes, believe me it's hard to understand some of them.
