I wish I had the words to say . Words of wisdom that surpass any ever heard before, I don't. I wish I could carry some of the burden for all of you, I can't . I'm 33 now, addicted for 20 . Severe addiction, somewhat of a worst case scenario. There is not one suggestion in this thread that I've not tried. Long term rehab(20+) methadone, suboxone, naloxone implant, jail, prayer... Still, it remains. There is a never ceasing thirst... It consumes me . I hate it . Addiction is a disease because left untreated it is usually fatal, it is progressive. I only want to say this one thing, being an addict does not mean that we are morally lacking, often we are judged as having something wrong with us morally or that we are not good people. I saw some of the derogatory comments and if being like those people is what sobriety is like , that is sad. I don't care if you have never used or if u are in active addiction , no one should be labeled as taboo, asked by better thans to commit suicide , shunned, or mistreated. I have no answer. I just will give you this , if you can do anything to stop the progression of your addiction do it now . I wouldn't curse my worst enemy with what I face every waking hour. God bless you all and remember that those that hate us just don't understand it and are scared and the rest who shun us are just mean hearted anyway!

Well maybe we can find this elusive genius of Leslie county(the ONE) and maybe then we can cure drug addiction... Grow new thumbs in a hydroponic garden for those unfortunate enough to have lost theirs... Create a drink using moonshine and a top secret ingredient known only to the ONE to vaccinate the world from early tooth loss... Therefore making the world a more beautiful place which in turn led to world peace.... Who knew the ONE is right here among us?

time on your side only 22 .the addiction their is one that can rid you of it, and that person lives in your body .its you.if you wont it bad then you will do it but if you depending on others .just remember no one can help more than the person them selves when it comes to any habit or addiction .and the hardest thing you will have to say and mean it is NO....

Having seen many many people be on one thing or the other I can honestly say that: any addiction revolves around ones self. That is why breaking any addictive behavior can be so tricky. First one must decide life without the addiction is worth living. Even non-drug oriented addictions face this challenge in trying to see life as being worthwhile. Most addictions occur by accident which leads so strongly into the sense of denial one may feel when trying to confront the issue. If I were to tell you that I have a certain hobby in which I utilize my time accordingly. Some may misconstrue that as selfish, self-absorbed and/or seemingly a unhealthy obsession. Well folks.....that is what addiction is all about. Self control. Without proper judgement we all fail the human condition and suffer a horrendous affliction of no soul. Addictions test our dignity...our self-worth and our resolve to live productively within ourselves. I personally think addictions come in all shapes and sizes. Guess what ladies and gentlemen....without an enabling environment there would not be such behavior...correct? Therefore...even though animals may graze at the same watering hole every day when that watering hole becomes compromised by reality (contamination or threat) then that animal must find hydration elsewhere. The trick becomes survival with addicts. They are usually bored with life...usually have deep seeded issues of abandonment and fear. How can you trick a chicken sh*t? That's what addicts are!

How to overcome addiction? It's simple and no it doesn't take "Jesus". It takes you ending your dumbass mentality and just walking away from them. It doesn't take other pills or anyone else. Find a reason and the motivation and do it. Stop complaining. Many people have done it before you and many will continue doing it after you. Stop with the crutches.

Seboxin does work, it is not a pain medication. It doesn't not have any addictive properties. I work at a Pyschiarty Dr. Office. And we treat patients with that program. There are things you have to qualify for, in order to be part of the program, but NO you do not get addicted. It is a non addictive.
Now I have been addicted to percocet, Focus, any narcotic I can get my hands on for 3 and 1/2 years now and I have met my wonderful girlfriend and have been together for 6 months strong now and don't want to lose her and I really want my life back without pain meds but from my research suboxine is addictive and has a high potential for abuse so what I am asking is will it really help

Suboxone will work IF you REALLY want it to work and are really serious about getting clean. This treatment will help you to feel normal again while you are in the process of kicking the addiction. But word of caution.... you really must be serious about leaving that kind of lifestyle behind. Whatever road you are going down with the addiction, you need to do a 180 and go back the other direction and never look back. Good luck and God bless.
