Stop by Food City Abuse

Food City tells employees they are no longer allowed to wear personal jackets or coats in the coldest part of winter (durring their shift) unless they are bought from the company, they will NOT provide jackets or coats and will fire you for getting sick because of exposure to the elements. Now they are every other commercial on the major network Channel 5 TV. Any thoughts?

A lot of people have to buy uniforms for work, employers don't have to supply them for free. Outerwear is a part of a uniform. Y'all country bumpkins are behind the times! If you itemize your taxes, if not, it's not much of a loss.

I would be more apt to complain about the fact that the company, and others like it refuse to hire anyone full time, and yet won't give someone a set shift so they can get a second job. Companies that do this make it impossible for anyone to be able to get ahead at all. Yes it is because of laws Obama may have made, but those laws are no excuse to do this to people. I guess they have to, or else those rich CEO's won't be able to afford their vacations to Hawaii in the summer.

Judging by Food City's prices compared to almost every other grocery store around, they're pretty greedy. I think IGA might even be more affordable than that place.

I worked there for about a month before I changed up life a bit and had to leave there. I enjoyed it, it was fun work and all the people there were super nice. All the boss's were great. It's true I would have liked for the job to be full time, especially after being somewhere else for so long that paid so well, but none of the problems there are anyone's fault who actually works there. It's the CEO's and what-not who make the rules. I don't think management there likes them either, but you have to go by them to keep your job. :/
