That would place her on the scene not long after the Hebrew exodus from Egypt, some 100-150 years earlier. Estimates vary between 600,000 and 6,000,000, the number of Hebrews coming out of Egypt. Either way ... it would make a major dent in the country's population.
Assuming that King Tut was one of the last kings of Egypt ... one might infer that the Hebrew exodus may have actually been the initial cause of the beginning of the decline of the Egyptian Empire.

Actually Cleopatra was the last..putting her in Caesar's time..she had a son by Caesar as a matter of fact. Egypt was under the rule of Rome after that. Some scholars think that Ramses was the ruler during the time the jews left Egypt. I think there is not much mention of their exodus in Egypt's writings. I think there was like a sentence written that said something like..."some annoying people have left our lands...good riddance." Furthermore, I don't think there was a huge population of Jews..of just my own opinion, a village or two gathered up and left to find their own land, promised to them by God.
So the exodus had no impact on the land of Egypt.

Sorry about that. I guess I got a little mixed up. I thought you were saying that King Tut was Cleopatra's son. He was Nefertiti's son. That makes more sense. I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes.:)

I don't know much of anything about Egyptian history (obviously), but the Hebrew scriptures do paint the picture that the exodus was a big deal. I guess a lot could be dependent upon which perspective the 'history' was being written from.

BTW ... I've found there to be a distinction between the "Jews" and the "Hebrews". But this board is probably not the place for that discussion.

So tell me more. Is Egypt your 'specialty' or are you into other arts/histories as well?

Whatever .....

I find it kind of refreshing that there's at least some people on this board who are capable of talking about something else besides who's ballin' who's husband. How 'bout you? You got anything else rolling around in your little mind?

I ain't mad at ya, darlin'. Hell, I think you're sexy as a harem full of nymphos ..., and, just like all the other of us male animals ... I'm just crazy 'bout all your xoxoxo's. Ummm, ummm, ummmm. Makes my pants get tight in the crotch just thinkin' about it. ;)

I'm not in the middle of any of this. Red's always been good to me ... but so have you. I like it that way. I'm not here to make any more enemies ... well, at least no more than I have to. lol Hell, I can't even keep up with who all of the players are. Red's always easy to spot 'cause she keeps her same screen name all the time. And, even you will have to admit that she's up on top of this Egyptology stuff, and, like I said, it's just refreshing to talk about something besides all this boinking and mud-slinging all the time. But, just to be honest about it all, if Red hadn't already proclaimed herself as a 'married woman', I'd probably be talking all this trashy, male, smut-talk to her too. I just think it's fun, and, you never know when a "that guy" might just get lucky and find what he really wants ... what he really needs. But I don't go there with married women, so me and Red will just have to be content to talk about ancient Egypt and other interesting stuff. She is interesting, ya know.

But y'all go right ahead and do what you think you've got to do. I have no intention of getting in the middle of any of it (well, except to throw in the occasional barb every once in a while, lol). The only one I seem to have a problem with is the gal who's so jealous of my beautiful little blow-up doll. lol (BTW did I tell you that I named her "yess"?) lol But I know she's really crazy about me too ... she's just too shy to admit it. lol Oh well ... maybe someday. lol

BTW ... you ain't seen "leona" around for a while have you? I sure do miss her. ;) Guess I must have scared her off ... or maybe she just figured my old bald head was just too hot to handle. lol

Love ya, baby .... muah yourself.

Noooo ... Why, does it sound like an insult? And no, I don't know anyone on here ...'cept some of those they talk about. I might have a fair idea who some of these posters may be ... but then again ... there's probably a few out there that might know me ... I don't know. HISTORY written by the rulers is kinda funny isn't it? Wag the dog has been going on a long long time.
As the Scriptures are written it is a big deal but maybe just to the Hebrews. After all, could they have said...yeah....we got up together and left looking for the promised land and went out into the desert, wandered around for 40 years...saw miracles, didn't EVER get the point, and then when we got THE Messiah,.........we killed him?

I am interested in Egypt, but any ancient history interests me. And scientists just keep finding more and more things that are so neat...like in China, they found white people buried, blonde hair....and they were dressed like American Indians..leather boots, and leather leggings and shirts... they had tattoos..they have found women buried with their horses and swords obviously warriors..they had tattoos...that was in the area where the Huns roamed...they've found burials of gladiators, discovered they were fed barley soups and they were fat..speculating that if they were wounded the cut would go thru fat and therefore heal faster..it just goes on and on.

That area of archeology always fascinated me too. They've found mysterious gadgets and 14 foot skeletons and all kinds of stuff. When you just consider the quantities and concentrations of arrowheads found around here, in some of these local fields, you got to figure that the Indians have been killing deer in those fields for a long, long time. Curious though about the broad geographic dispersal of fair skinned, blonde and blue eyed peoples, huh?

The find of "white" people buried in China, along the Silk Road was a big surprise. Obviously there has been more travel and civilization than can be imagined. Ancient people were way more educated and wise than we thought.

We've got a lot more toys now ... but the primal passions of man hasn't changed one iota in the last six thousand years ... the lust, greed, anger, jealousy and fear. Sometimes I think we'll never make it out of here alive.

The Silk Road ... was that like a commercial caravan route or something?

In my opinion man has not changed at all. We just improved things with electricity and air planes. Ever watch Star Trek? In one episode, Kirk said,.."yes, I am a killer...but I didn't KILL today." Do you realize that the Ten Commandments are about the only real rules to go by in order to have "civilization"?

Yeah, I believe that. Unfortunately, there sure seems like there's a bunch (including a bunch on this board) who prefer to live under the Ten Planks to the Communist Manifesto. The Bible is like the flag these days ... everyone want to appear to wear it, but nobody really believes in it.

The true Communists would not have these posers commies out of this country. And the Bible should be studied, because you can apply every story to your life and get a lesson out of it. Most of all lots of people think they lots of time, but you just let something bad happen and you'll see the churches fill to the brims, because you know there are no atheists in fox holes.

Yeah ... and I think that time is getting closer than what most people think. Every day I get up and read the news it just reinforces my gut feeling that something really bad is about to pop. My reading of the scriptural prophesies forecasts plagues on the near horizon. Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, autism, etc are all on the rise ... some of them exponentially. Could be the plagues are already upon us.

Oh well ... eat, drink and be merry ... lets see, how does the rest of that go?
