They are gonna tax us to where we wont be able to smoke. If EVERYONE would pick a day and not buy smokes, all people in this state, the same day, it would put an end to this unfair tax.

F**k U Dan who ever U Rit's fighting words when talk about my cigs, i have tried ever way in hell to quit, I could stop eating or quit any addiction before cigs. They R allegedly supposeto go up 9 dollars on the carton Mon. I work Dan and I hav U to know U don't buy my damn cigs.I will probably not quit when the price goes up but would if I thought I could because it has caused me develope chronic bronchitis. If that don't make someone quit then I just really don't know I am a strong person but they have a hold on me. That being said just because U R not someone who gaets up alnight long just to smoke don't say sh*t about it until U hav been where and other hav been when U don't know what the hell U R talking about.

I wish i knew some way to help people who want to quit, i lost so many family members to lung cancer. i know the addiction is so powerful, I saw my mom try to quit and cry when she would sneak and smoke them after she got cancer. I hate cigarettes for this reason. If i were a smoker i would try ever method available, the cost would seem small considering what you might save in the long run.

I agree 100%. They should double the tax from what it is now. Hell, that's why 20/20 is doing documentaries on us non-exercising, smoking, pill-popping, Mountain Dew-drinking, non-tooth brushing people.

You would have to boycott it longer than a day. In order to actually boycott it you would have to quit smoking. Of course, if you want to slowly kill yourselves I can think of a much quicker way than smoking. In a way I'm glad that they are raising the taxes on cigarettes. If they cost more maybe some people will quit. Smoking is a nasty and lethal habit.

I think the Government should put into place a program to help people pay for chantix, the patch, gum, etc.., to help them stop smoking. This would make since to me. I smoke and am trying to quit. It is only hurting me the most, but when I die of lung cancer, my kids will be hurting also. The FDA makes so much money for big business through hospitals and doctors fighting lung cancer and chemo treatments for people, they don't want us to quit. They love the money. They also know 50 cents higher on a pack won't matter to a heavy smoker.

You are killing the younger generation. Ever heard of "second-hand smoke"? Also, the health problems that smoking causes ends up costing taxpayers money and drains much needed resources. Do you think the government makes money off the tax? Hell no. It all goes back to pay for your friggin' doctor bills. Educate yourself.

Oh so quick to give up your rights. Hmm, and if they do cause a lot of people to stop smoking, where will they get the money they need from the next time? Will it be something you like? This is unfair taxation. No certain group of people is supposed to pay for someting that benefits the whole, this is in the constitution. I guess you people have no problem with breaking it as long as it doesnt affect you. Someday it might, if nonsense like this is allowed. Maybe the right to bare arms will be next, they sure have been talking a lot about that one. Hell its just the constitution, what a joke. Keep giving in and see where it gets you.
