The myth about Vermont is killing us and we are doing it to ourselves.

"There’s an inventor behind every tree in this state," she said. "I think that would make us so unique, and so attractive for young people to stay and come to this state."

While Vermont may be attractive to some people it usually isn't the most dynamic of our society because there are much better places for entrepeneurs than Vermont. We lack capital in a very big way and until we are willing, as a state, to provide capital the way almost every other state does we are not going to have serious job creating people come here or develope here. We will be stuck with the dribs and drabs we have now. Our families who work for these little companies will live pay check to pay check and our leaders will continue to promote Vermont as some idyllic place to is very sad that the working people and our children are being ignored and our leaders continue to perpetuate this fraud about Vermont.

A good start would be to keep 650 jobs in Vernon for another 20 years.

Nuclear Pod technology is an interesting prospect. The pods are self contained and think of the advantages. There would be shorter transmission lines and less voltage drop. Smaller independent electric companies would be born or simply replace all the oil fired substations that dot the landscape.

There doesn't seem to be any good plan in place to transition away from it.
The people who want it shut down have no viable alternative.
