I met Sharon Perica (Campbell) in Cuernavaca, Mexico on March 17th, 1973, her 17th Birthday. We became fast friends and lived together in Mexico, Va. and Ky until she went to the CIA in NY.
While we were together we began producing her 1st (and maybe only) TV cooking show in Whitesburg, KY. when she was stil a teenager. She was a joy in my life and in the end I was lucky enough to spend a week with her at the culinary institute before she changed over to Doug Campbell.
I have missed her greatly all these years and am in sorrow upon the word of her passing. I can't believe it is true.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her children. There was no one like her.
She lived a great life. RIP Sharon.

I learned of Sharon's death in early January and was stunned. Sharon and I shared so many journeys togther - our divorces, our kids' successes and travails and so much more. Sharon and I were very close for almost 15 years.
She had incredible energy and vitality. She was such an inspiration to me and I am not quite sure that she fully knew that. She would remain steadfastly in the background, a solid plank on which to get your footing. I will miss her so much. I never thought that the world would continue without her. I love you Sharon!!
