A police chase ended with a crash in Hyattsville on Sunday night. The crash happened at about 11 p.m. in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and East-West Highway.

I mean really...is getting the location exact that important? The core of the story is that some idiot was being chased by the cops...he/she refused to stop...and the end result was a crash!! Whether it occurred in Hyattsville or Riverdale...who the hell cares!!??

If they (The newsies) can't report correctly, on where something happened, then how do we really know if what they did report, is accurate?

I thought about the core of the story. Even if it happened in Timbuktu...someone still go hurt in the accident.

I've noticed that things that happen in a huge area of Prince George's County are mentioned as happening in Hyattsville even if they happened in another community far from Hyattsville--maybe it's because these other places have a Hyattsville mailing address? I've noticed the same thing seems to happen in Montgomery County regarding Silver Spring--it's like the entire eastern part of the county is Silver Spring.

Yes, you are right I see that for Silver Spring alot.

I know of around 3 places in PG county that are considered Hyattsville....one being in Landover and another off the top of my head in Green Meadows/Lewisdale.

The police chases you know are the result of various felonies such as hoods robbing a store and stealing a car or carjacking a person in the parking lot. Big serious felonies like that culminate in high pursuits among police enroute to a suspect. Hyattsville, Riverdale, Langley Park and parts of Landover are notorious for that kind of drama.

[I was in that accident]

I was actually in that accident. I was traveling on Baltimore Avenue (Rt 410) when I stopped at the Kenilworth Ave light. I work at a Law Office down the street and was driving home late. Well, out of now where, this a Lincoln Town car ramped in between me and another woman's car as if he could fit through the tiny space between both of us at high rates of speed. I didn't even know what hit us because he was going so fast. My entire passenger side was messed up, the other woman sitting at the light had more damage because her driver's side was messed up. She had an elderly woman and another woman in the car with her. I think one of them was injured pretty badly. When the police filled me in, they mentioned that one of the suspects were dead. Do you know that the suspects were 17 and 21? WTF. My life could've been taken by a kid!!! I hate to say it, but I wanted to go kick behinds myself. They got what they deserved! Call me cold hearted, but I'm speaking what I feel. Dumb people should get punished!

WASHINGTON - Sources tell Associated Press News they are pursuing some strong leads in the shoplifting mob that struck a Logan Circle-area clothing store in a crime caught on tape and posted on YouTube. And other local stores say they've been hit by the mobs, too. The robbery happened about 7 p.m. Wednesday. Nine men supposely from a street Mexican gang in their teens or early 20s entered the Universal Gear store in the 1500 block of 14th Street NW. Others stayed outside.

The surveillance video shows the men head to clothing racks and begin grabbing apparel. They run for the door, where store manager Kris Johnson and employee Jorge Sosa tried to stop them, they got attacked in the process and they told police that since the beginning of spring, theft and violence have skyrocketed in the area neighborhoods. "It was a crazy thing for me to do because maybe they had a gun and they could shoot me or they could pull out a lighter and set me on fire. Money and bills get taken and things are getting worse as the spring continues," Suazo said. "Your instincts just kick in and you have to protect yourself and your personnel too," added Johnson, who says he was punched, kicked and thrown to the floor in the altercation.
