Ms. Ibbitson I am so sorry that you have come under the scrutiny of these people. If only they knew of the countless hours you put in at Habitat for Humanity to help people that didn't have homes of their own. If only they knew of the donated time and effort you put in as a friend and a citizen in Hutchinson and of the numerous times you have been there for other people when they had no one. Perhaps their judgment of you would be less harsh. There is a reason the bible states "let thee with out sin cast the first stone..." I am surprised to see here that their are SO many perfect people in that all of these people feel they are of position to judge you. God Bless You...

God can't bless anyone...he doesn't exist. Earth would be a much happier place when everyone finally came to that realization...

I was very offended by the shirts, and it is my right to an education for my kids in an environment that doesn't make them uncomfortable. Wearing any clothing with such a racy topic is just asking for trouble. Wearing two is being a troublemaker and looking for easy money from a lawsuit. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the parents put him up to it. I had Mr. Grina for a teacher, and he is very smart and fair.

Wearing two? He wore them for weeks straight!

I agree CSI... It is our right as parents to have our children taught in a fair manner. My daughter was offended by the shirts. I'm sorry, sixth graders are still a little young for this.

I also had Mr. Grina and he is a fair and kind man. It stinks that his name is being tarnished like this.

I would wholeheartedly support the school making them change shirts, as I would if someone wore a pro-choice shirt. It's a huge distraction from what they should be doing at school - learning. Quite frankly, I think public schools should have uniforms.

So if someone's religious beliefs are for/against abortion they shouldn't be able to wear such shirts, but if they are muslim, they should be able to wear head scarves and burkhas?

If they are muslim or from certain conservative jewish sects, they should be able to wear headscarves at school. If they are jewish, they should be able to wear yarmulkes. If they are Christian, they should be able to wear a cross. If they are Hindu, they should be able to wear a bindi. That's what freedom of religion means.

If they are Wiccan, can they wear a dead rabbit around their neck?

In a public school, no. As I said, I think there should be uniforms in public schools. If not that, then anything worn that represents religious or political opinions or gang affiliations or any such nonsense should not be allowed. I think those things are complete distractions.

Back when I was in high school, our volleyball team had a girl who refused to wear the uniform because she said it went against her religious beliefs about modesty. They told her "oh well, tough luck, that's the uniform." She quit.

And students should have foot baths, and face Mecca 4 times per day for prayer, and be allowed to carry butt wipe rags around school, and demand "Clean" meat for lunch, and be allowed to make that shrill Muslim Chick sound when they are upset.

Gotta love the Wisdom of the Progressive Victims Democrat Leftists!

Dare I say I actually (sort of) agree with you on this one? I'm sure you will insult me regardless, but I am really not in favor of public schools making exceptions or special arrangements for anyone's religious practices. You can practice your religion at home, or anywhere other than at school, or you can pray silently, but no need to disrupt the entire class with it.

I am 100% against that, be it for Muslims or Christians or any other religion. Keep it to yourself or go to a private school that's based on your religious beliefs!

No, that's what it means to the folks who established state and federal laws requiring accommodation for religious beliefs.
