US Army personel are screened more carefully than school officials, police officers, judges etc. But just like the ministers and church officials, (people whom we are brought up to trust) people slip through the cracks. Screening people dont completely prevent things like this from happening. It only prevents people who has been accussed of such crimes of joining a particular group or operation. Less than 1% of military personel has been charged of these crimes (and if he is guilty, he should be punished by both military and civilian law). But the rest of them are very respectable US servants who would do anything to protect and serve the US Constitution. Most police officers, judges, teachers, ministers, parents etc are great people who have morals and values. But it only take 1 idot to screw up what they all stand for. Its happend on more than one occasion in every career field known to man. I just hope justice is served....
