This basically says if you are a commercial driver (trucker, bus driver, corporate fleet etc) you must use a bluetooth device while driving or sitting idle. The individual faces a $2750 fine and the company faces $11,000 fine. This went into effect Jan 1st and I have confirmed that law enforcement will be aggressively looking for this. I can see WV having a surplus this year so watch out.

Please tell us how this compares to your conviction of domestic abuse on your children and how the system is jealous of you.

We'll wait...

Did you borrow money from your sister or your parents for your trip to California to look for another menial job you'll eventually get fired from?

So non bluetooth devices are not acceptable. There are some wired headsets that are 100 times better than the best Bluetooth. Federal govt did not need to get involved. What about cb radios?

It's all chipping away at our rights

I don't think everyone is required to use a bluetooth headset. The law just says that you can't use a hand held phone(it must be mounted within reach). You can use any type of wired or wireless earpieces or earphones, or a speaker phone.
You also can't dial numbers, unless you use the voice command

My friend was riding his bike in a bike lane, and was run over by a semi-truck. The driver was wearing headphones. My friend was murdered and the driver didn't even know it.
I am a tour manager for concerts and if our driver was wearing headphones, or not keeping us 100% safe by using all of their senses, including hearing... I'd be conserned for everyone's safety.

I'm glad this is a law.
Don't touch your phone! Driving is your job. Our drivers listen to the radio using speakers at a low volume.

How can anyone argue their rights as a professional driver?

They also have a law that says truckers must use electronic logs on a phone/tablet . No more writing your mileage on the back of your hand.
