Many people suffer from panic attacks. Sometimes, people need medication, and counseling can help you to understand why this is happening to you and how to cope.

Thanks for the information. Did you have panic attacks, and if you did what helped you?

I hope you get soom good comments about your problem on here instead of soom bullshit goodluck. Panic attacks are tuff to deal with ... Like Susie said counseling is good/ go to the person or love one that makes you happy let them hold you / dont be afraid to open up/ Most of the time when you get them its just from stress problems and being by your self and afraid. Remember as life moves on getting older is tuff/ Like my Mom and Dad allways told me dont plan/ and whats going to be will be and you need to get the Lord in your life and it all will work out. I hope you get better.

No, I have never had panic attacks myself, but I worked in the medical field and knew people who had panic attacks. That is why I suggested counseling. It really can help. They will teach you coping methods and help you to understand it all. You may or may not need medication. The good news is that panic attacks are manageable, and the sooner you get help, the better you will do with them. I sincerely wish you the best.

I have much sympathy for you, sometimes it's a combination of issues, but I think stress is a major factor with panic attacks. I pray you find relief.

I suffer from panic/anxiety attacks myself. I get this horrible feeling of dread like something horrible is about to happen. My heart races, I feel nauseous and get painful stomach cramps. I start sweating and my face turns bright red then I feel as though I'm going to faint. I have a hard time catching my breath. My chest gets tight and I feel nothing but fear. I also tremble. Hope this helps you.

As a person who has had panic attacks for about 16 teen years now, caused by an auto accident and the fear of being ran completely over. They started. They are most always brought on by stress of some type, and even "hidden stress"? In other words, one may be sitting around or as far as that goes, driving, shopping, walking along, and suddenly just as though you've been shot, it comes on suddenly. It's 100% real, and I must honestly say. I used to judge my poor mother, telling her she could do better, to not be so whimpy, and such, however, after I realized the full impact they can have on your own life, it's a real and true sickness. Mine most always felt like I was having a heart attack. Pain in the chest, down the right arm, feeling of hopelessness, helpless, pity, sorry for myself in knowing my life had changed right before my eyes and nothing I could do about the disabilities that came from the auto accident. I was not the same person. Had to stop most all activities, due to 9 different operations, no more dancing, couldn't work, which was my life. I enjoyed my job and all the friends and friendships made at the jobs and being able to come and go any place one chose, vacations, biking, hiking, fishing, all those things came to a halt. To top it all off, to most persons, with my cloths on, I look fairly healthy, which also works on ones mind, due to if you can about what others feel and/or think of you and about you, maybe thinking you're just some lazy slob riding the system. All these things can be in the back of your mind, come to you in dreams, and I've actually ripped my shirt off from around my neck, for I couldn't breathe? There are some pills "if" one don't abuse them, sell them, snort them, and I'd just keep it to myself, but using Clonazepam and they are others in the same line of medication, ranging from 0.25mg up to 2.0mg and they do help. However you may not need them. First I'd try deep breathing exercises. As you breath in, expand your stomach as far outward as you can and take in as much air as you can. Then expel it through your nose by pushing all the air out with your diaphram.*<spelling. Do this each time a panic attack starts to come on, for between 10 and 15 times, and try to change your thought to anything that you can that provokes happiness, or your helping others, whom are far worse off than yourself. Remember this? This is a real sickness, its not made up and it can wreck your life, if you allow it to control you. Get a grip on the things that are harming your thinking, whether it being bad friends, poor marriage, bad financial situation, whatever you can think of that brings the panic on, take a piece of paper, and write it down each time and the date, time of night or day, and what you were doing at that exact time. Do this for about a week or two and then try to figure out the "trigger points" that seem to cause them or bring them on, and change the things that you can control, and adapt to a different way of thinking about the things you cannot control. Other things that help when you feel a panic attack coming on, are a shower, exercising, cleaning house, nothing to grand, maybe just dusting the furniture or vaccumning and/or going for a walk, calling a good friend that knows you have this disease, however, both of you talk about happy things, times, and things that will take your mind off your troubles. I hope and pray this helps. It is more horrible than any person(s) that's never had to deal with it, it's a whole lot worse than anyone can imagine. Best of luck, kind regards.

The first thing you should probably do is see a doctor to rule out any problems with your heart and lungs.I find for mild panic attacks, taking deep breaths through the nose and exhaling through the mouth helps.

Not sure "if" you were talking to me, or the other persons that replied to you? As for hurting in left lung, I find that the pain is sometimes so great that it's very hard to pin point the exact spot of pain. Seems to me, it hurts all over the front of my chest, upward towards my throat and in my back, can be one side or both? I would suggest that if you've never been to a doctor and can afford it at all, please go and allow them to run test on your heart, lungs, and please give them as much detailed information as possible. The best way to give details, is to keep writing things down for many days, weeks or months, so that you know without trying to recall from memory, because the pain, and panic effects ones memory. Hope you all the very best.

First of all you need to see is a good doctor to rule out other problems. Untreated stress will lead to other problems its a domino effect. For me it was triggered by certain things. Other people have said theirs was brought on my things also. Someone who has never witness or had a panic attack they don't think they are real just made up to get attention. It is not everyone who has had a panic attack knows this is real for them. For me I would break out into a cold sweat and then my stomach would get in knots resulting in diarrhea, chest would tighten then felt like someone had both their hands around my throat could not breathe and then started seeing little white stars by then it felt like I was gonna pass out but I did not. For a long time I just kept it to myself I was embarressed to tell anyone did not want people think I was crazy or damaged. Which was all wrong. I was convienced I had heart problems and was taking a heart attack it was that real. But after going to a understanding doctor with treatment the panic attacks are much better now and quality of life is good. Just get some treatment and help. Good luck!

I had some problems with panic attacks as well from starting with several money issuse/ sickness / depreshion / cheating / shame /and much more. But all this just adds up in your daily life as you get older and eats at you 24/7 so i finaly just let it go and said the hell with it. The attacks stoped aswell. And yes my spelling is not perfict either. BUT like i say the hell with it/ whats it matter anyway. Plus not ajoke find you someway to let it go/ If its smoking / drinking/ going to church is good/ pot / or anything and dont worry what people due in trying to down you they will do that anyway. You only live once so live.
