This woman is about as obstructive to the system as they come. There was/is no excuse for her not getting this to a vote 3 years ago.

The system we have provides for a Senate hearing, and a vote to either confirm or reject the nominee. First of all, Lopez seems to be thumbing her nose at the system. Second, if Lopez really thinks Skandera is a bad choice to run the department, why would Lopez delay the process and allow Skandera to run the department by default for 3 or more years? None of this makes any sense, except a conclusion that Lopez is not fit to be Governor.

And, quite frankly, it does not matter if Lopez runs or not because Martinez is going to get reelected in a landslide.

I agree completely, she's either thumbing her nose or trying to be an obstructionist. Either way she comes out on the short end of the stick with the non vote thing.

She serves one good purpose, that of a bad example!

But she might inadvertently serve another, even more noble, purpose if she gets the Dem nomination. That purpose would be to virtually ensure that Susana gets re-elected in a landslide. I think the Dems realize they need a sacrificial candidate for this next election, and Lopez fits the bill.

It's almost a toss up between her, a snake in the grass and Gary King, the master of foot dragging. However she does have a slight lead<G>.
