Nope, I don't have a TV. Never had one. What I do have in it's stead is a sense of humor. Think about that.

I offer 'eagle eye' my special Mongrelian blessing since you find me so appealing. It is a wish of upward mobility to the Head-of-Household.

Ok so several times I've gone to the restaurant at Starmax. They never have shrimp cocktail or the delicious ribs I had last summer. Now their online menu says they serve these. Get with it Starmax management your menus suck. And so do your rude staff. The bartender with the bulgy eyes and ridiculous personality needs to be trained. Sitting on the bar is gross.

So what did you expect for an eight million dollar facility? Luna County got your property taxes raised and thats about all your going to get. There is NO way a community with the highest unemploymnet rate in the state can support an entertainment facility of this size. People are not moving to Deming they are moving out. If you want good food support the locals who are not government funded. There are too many good local resaurants who could use your support unless you just love feeding government enterprise.

True. I'm not from Luna County but I can see your frustrations. I come from the Silver City area to treat my kids and their friends to movies, bowling etc. It really seems like that place has gone down hill. I'm so tired of the rude staff. They should probably replace all of them with some of the unemployed people who probably would love to have a job. It's VERY disappointing. Plus, that place shouldn't make money it should just hold itself up. You're exactly right. Where does the profit go to the County personnel as bonuses? The citizens paid for it, so the County should reinvest that profit into other things for the citizens. They should have to post a profit report.

Hard to post a profit report when there is no profit!

my opinion wrote:
I like the fact that Deming has a movie theater and bowling alley and that I can take my grandkids to watch movies there. I am not familiar with the bar or who runs it or what goes on in there, but my opinion is that if it is that much of a problem with adults misbehaving inappropriately then they should change its' status of "bar" to more of a "lounge". A nice quiet place to have a drink and socialize.
Either way having a place to go for entertainment is better than not having anywhere to go. As it is now we don't have much to choose from. Everything has closed down.
I'm with you. At least we have a nice facility to go watch movies or go bowling. We should all help support this place instead of condeming it. It's better to have something than nothing.

That's good. It's owned by the citizens therefore it should only make enough to run. It is nice having a place to go but it isn't being managed right. Loads of problems there. When the new manager has nothing better to do than grope the staff, yeah there's issues.

You're talking about gropping staff when the Sunland Park wanna be mayor was caught getting a lap dance!!! Who knows what else goes on at your city hall! Starmax manager better watch out. Video cameras are everywhere nowadays.

This is what I've learned: Whether in band (I still have my spats), sports, parties or dances; you get out of them what you put into them. So If you really want a smashing Senior dance this year that is better than last year's Senior dance...wait a minute...did you flunk 12th grade?

Anyway, where was I? If you really love dances, then YOU yourself get others your age and inclination to spearhead a rocking(?) dance. There's nothing that says youngsters can't take charge and fund and organize a great dance. Me and my sister did all by ourselves with our own money back in our country highschool two succesive years. EVERYBODY CAME to it.

It's a matter of passion. And on that note, all us folks who by now are short on time are looking at you folks who are long on time. We're wondering if you're going to handle our country we hand off like you're going to handle this opportunity for a memory-making dance while you're yet young.

Nobody owes Nobody Nothing. You have to make success for yourself BY YOURSELF.
