What's going on over there? Stuff constantly stolen from vehicles parked in the lot! How can someone steal a tailgate in that parking lot? Where are the security personnel? They get paid $15 an hour to do what? Eat, watch movies and stand around? And fights in the bar? Monday night a local business man and the Coors rep threw down in the bar. Professionals? Wow that place has gone down hill for sure. Maybe the Coors rep should stay home with his wife and child instead of hanging out with his bartender mistress. And the bartender should stop dancing up on all the men like a cat in heat. My grandchildren had to see that and it was disgusting. The county allows this crap to go on here. The news manager should keep his hands off the behind of said bartender as well. It's just disgusting what's going on there. And we the tax payers are paying for it.

I heard That the Starmax your ''family friendly bar'' is up for business of the year at the Luna county Chamber of Commerce. Bartender mistress is up for citizen of the year. Its a new award catagory. Do you like the new 425 thousand dollar movie equipment?

Wow if that's true it's crazy. No the new equipment has issues. When I took my grandkids the sound kept fading out and at one point the movie froze up on the screen.

I think things are better.. The old management didn't care... At least the county has people that are trying to make a difference.. The bar is soooo much better without that one lady that was managing...

Yeah right better. That place is worse. All the trouble makers who started fights, who were rude and obnoxious have all been let back in. The new manager can't keep his hands off the women. If things were so bad why is everything exactly the same? We were there a couple of Thursdays ago and a table with a bunch of cops started trouble with another table and the manager threw out the other table because he's friends with the cops. We say the whole thing. Those cops were out of line. If the old mgr was there she wouldn't have put up with it. She was fair when dealing with everyone. Even kicked out a couple of those cops. Try again when you know what you're talking about.

Right wrote: I think it's going down hill. They should close it. ''They'' would be the property owners who are paying a higher property tax to support a county owned bar.''Entertainment'' This eight million dollar facility in the years that it is open has paid nothing on the principal of their loan and is not able to even pay the interest each month. If you are a property owner you are a landlord of the facility. Why does the County not print in the Headlight a profit and loss report for the public to see? Also the job title and the salary for each department involved in this entertainment facility. As a Landlord who was forced to fund a bar against my will and faith. I should have easy access to how well my investment is doing. Not every one is on line and not every one can navigate the court house for that information. Is it a money pit and should the county just take an eight million dollar loss? In an economy where unemployment is the highest in the state and more people are moving out than in and education is at an all time low, we can always brag on our family friendly bar and movies to fall back on. Closing this will just not fix stupid.

I like the fact that Deming has a movie theater and bowling alley and that I can take my grandkids to watch movies there. I am not familiar with the bar or who runs it or what goes on in there, but my opinion is that if it is that much of a problem with adults misbehaving inappropriately then they should change its' status of "bar" to more of a "lounge". A nice quiet place to have a drink and socialize. Either way having a place to go for entertainment is better than not having anywhere to go. As it is now we don't have much to choose from. Everything has closed down.

I heard that the county is more than willing to give anyone monthly figures. So why isn't it posted on the county website? I've checked several times and I don't find anything. I think the place is something the county citizens needs but this town is too small for such a big entertainment center. Something smaller would have been a better idea and would have probably been profitable. However, seeings how the citizens paid taxes for this place, it shouldn't make much profit but simply run itself. The problem is they brought in a person to oversee the running for the place and paid him over $13,000 a month. That is ridiculous. Almost lost it when I heard that. Then they brought in another guy who was getting half of that monthly. Things seemed to be getting better, but they expected him to pay $5000 rent.???? Pay rent to run their business for them. What were they thinking? I guess when it seemed that this wasn't working they fired him, cuz he voiced his opinion. Now they have a general manager with NO experience. Heard they are always running out of food and drinks. They've got a bunch of non-sense going on and stuff being given away left and right. Well they won't be in business long if all their supplies are depleted. It's a disaster over there. And money going down the drain.

Every time I go to the movies, the concession counter workers give out free items and movie tickets to people they know. All of that theft will surely be its downfall. They are very rude and give away free stuff. One girl with black hair and fake contacts gave her kids (like 5) tickets, popcorn, candy and cokes and told them to go watch a movie and behave. If this is a daycare I'm gonna tell all my friends. Who's paying attention to this? Do they not pay attention or are they all doing it?

I'm still not figuring out why people would willingly pay real money for a fake prescription. Help me out here...say I'm a regular off duty cop on a typical leisurly Deming day. I 'accidentally' shoot my annoying wife while cleaning my gun. Or, say I 'accidentally' tase my delinquent kid in the bathtub while cleaning my taser. Or I 'accidentally' shoot myself in the skull with my service revolver because I'm depressed and flop around making a bloody mess in my driveway. Could the connection be just 'fugazzi' contacts?
