She should have gotten the full sentence. I really doubt that she would seek out a therapeutic community while in prison. She is gonna be getting better quality drugs in the place.

When she gets out and harms someone it's going to be on the shoulders of the system which allows these people on the streets. There is no doubt in my mind she will regress right back to what she was doing before she was caught. Got a buck says she kills someone.

Good grief....did anyone read that article WITHOUT laughing out loud!?!?!?! It is so WRONG in so many ways it's just unreal. Here's some examples:

"District Court Judge J.C. Robinson said he hoped Madrid would take advantage of treatment programs for substance abuse and anger management while in prison and while on probation afterward."

Well there's a judge that needs some psych medication because he is WAY out of touch with reality. Unless you strap this woman down and force her to take thorazine, she will remain a wahcko.

"Zsoka, however, argued that Madrid should serve more time based on the "highlights" of a diagnostic report regarding Madrid. Zsoka said the report showed that Madrid's "grip on reality is somewhat tenuous." He said Madrid told those conducting the diagnostic report that the Hurley Police Department had conspired against her and set her up."

Hey Zsoka...this nutjob is gonna be back on the streets doing the same exact thing or worse. She needs to be locked away in a loony bin PERMANENTLY. And since there are no more loony bins, I sure hope you post in the newspaper when this crazy gets released. I want to make sure I am armed when she is walking around.

"She believes that there was a conspiracy to convict her for reasons unknown," Zsoka said."

While that comment is pretty common among criminals that are sane and insane, coming from her it IS a cause for worry.

"Zsoka said while Madrid had no prior serious convictions, the report showed there was concern that she would repeat the behavior shown in the armed robbery."

Geee...ya think? I hope to hell her lawyer is her next target.

"Ortiz said he has been instructed to file an appeal on her convictions."

Instructed? Instructed by WHO? Is he hearing voices in his head too?

"Madrid faces still more charges in two outstanding cases, including two counts of battery upon a peace officer and resisting, evading, obstructing an officer."

And don't be surprised if all she gets for those crimes is another slap on th wrist.

she got more time for an armed robbery than the 16yr old employee of McDonald's got for stabbing Anthony Montoya to death in the parking lot at Silver High. why is it that homicide is a lesser crime in Silver Shitty?

Because Silver Shitty-Grunt County is where you come if you want to get away with murder....literally.

While this may paint a picture of a dysfunctional Justice System in our community; she DID get 9 years in Prison. Even 6 years (w/time served and "good time" credits) is substantial. A crime was committed and some measure of justice was served.

ROFLMAO! My wife and I saw him rolling along in front of the motels on 180 this afternoon. The eyepatch is kinda cool. Maybe he is a pirate? He used to walk around with a knapsack and a long staff. They used to call him "father time". No idea where he got hold of the wheelchair. I guess it beats walking everywhere.

I'm glad the police cracked down on all the beggars, although with the arrival of nice weather, I am sure they will return. The most amusing one I saw had a sign that said "need beer money". At least he was honest. But I didn't give him anything. All that begging stuff is a scam. They beg for cash, and then when they get enough they pool the money, get a motel room, and all get drunk. I know because I was informed by one of the people that works at the motel. Do they want honest jobs? Nope. And any beggar that can afford to buy cigarettes (they smoke them by the side of the building where they recruit miners) sure doesn't need any money from me.
