Cookie baron concerned about workforce
All of this commerce began with a diabetic kid named Joseph Semprevivo, who grew up in Deming and Las Cruces.

I admire this company but am not sure why a profitable employer would tie attendance to a maximum hourly pay that is not a living wage. The Semprevivos receive many tax benefits financially by moving their headquarters to Florida, as do many that offer stocks to Wall Street investors.
This company is not traded, but to be a quality employer an hourly wage during training should be offering no less than $9/ hour during training with increments up to $12 for meeting or exceeding goals set by the employer over a set period of time. The value of a trained employee must be reciprocated. Forcing adults to limp through life in poverty where working while sick or neglecting a child to keep your job is not leading to loyalty. It undermines the fabric of a healthy community and the future success of a company.
No, Florida was not the destination because of a lack of being able to find enough good local employees to staff the office. It is financially strategic and wise for the founders. Now look at why those working in NM are forced to glean on scraps to make a living.
It appears they want to offer so little because the local workforce is desperate for any kind of job and should be grateful to have the scraps offered by the baron and be willing to enslave themselves without any flexibility for situations that come up in life. Just a different point of view to consider.
