BS she is as guilty as they come. She will get her day in court, waste our tax dollars and still find time and money to get another tatoo.

Elkstine is likely right as rain. This is starting to stink. I could understand maybe a change of venue, but the folks at the Smoke Shop deserve recompense. Folks in this county would like to know there's some real justice. This case is already starting off like another slap on the wrist, another plea bargain whereby few, if any of the actual charges result in time in prison. It's a wonder people around here aren't reverting to olden days justice instead of fooling around with the court system.

The lineup was disallowed because she was smiling?!?!?!?!!? Good grief...what kind of moron SMILES at a police lineup???? And why would a smile indicate guilt? Is everyone that goes around smiling a potential thief?? Would it have been disallowed if she was wearing a pink blouse and everyone else wasn't? I smell a real SHYSTER lawyer here.

Grant County sure is getting the reputation of the place where you can commit ANY crime and get away with it. Oh wait...the TWO crimes you can't get away with...speeding and not having your seatbelt buckled.

"and my client's position is it wasn't her."

Because there are so many women with neck tattoos like that driving her car around.

Let's not forget that her vehicle was on the security tape shortly before the robbery.
So now she's saying she has an alibi? How do you have time to drive thru the smokeshop but not hold it up at gunpoint minutes later?
I'm sure the victim would of picked her out of the lineup without the smile.

Hey she's got an alibi! I bet her alibi is a real upstanding Grant County citizen. Just one question about the person she was with when she wasn't robbing the Smoke Shop, is her alibi on the Smoke Shop security footage with her too?

you know what... this is not funny, it's tragic, people ARE desperate here in Silver City, there are no jobs, no money, domestic violence is at an all time high. So, I'm happy YOU can laugh. I don't find it amusing at all.

Desperately stupid is more like it! LOL! Boy, you people in Silver City do take crime to heart. I have to assume from your post that you condone robbery and take offense if someone like me thinks it's a really stupid thing to do. Your reply is even funnier than robbing a tobacco shop, why didnít they go for a hotdog stand? Well Einstein, if you were going to commit robbery would it not make more sense to rob a place that has more money, like a bank or supermarket?

A friend and I was talking about this article and it was declared that in a few years, this town could be near a ghost town if the economic situation doesn't change. Or, we could wait until the Cartel or something else arrives to turn this town into more mayhem and thievery than is already taking place. Who is going to want to come here to invest and have a business that employes more than a handful of people with all the crap going on and a justice system that is virtually corrupt and broken? Hmm. I just had an idea whilest writing this. We could become a tri-county capital for psychological services, get more psychologists here, encourage another mental health facility be built here where a bunch of these spousal abuse people could reside until they are okay to go home.(I'm aware there's more issues than this going around). And this is something more than El Refugio, more than Ft Bayard, more than Border Area. Let a hospital be built on top the hill where the old one use to be. A serious mental health facility. This town really needs it.

It would have to be a really, really big hospital honey. From what I have read so far it appears that the cartels and their insidious mentality have already taken over the town. Seriously, it is not much different from the corruption we read about that takes place in Mexico.

It's way different then in Mexico. If a Cartel took over the town they would better the schools, hospitals, library, stores, and local government. they would put lots of people on their payroll and kill anyone that tried to rob cheat or steel from them. This is why they are so successful. You need to brush up on the way Cartels operate and quite listening to propaganda put out by your government.

There are jobs if you can pass a drug test and a background check. And people don't hold up stores at gunpoint because they are out of work, they do it to buy drugs.

Your post has to be the most ridiculously stupid comment on the issue I have read anywhere to date. You may just be happier moving to Mexico to join the cartels.
