"Why is every American given the right to an education but not health care? We are the only industrialized nation that does not provide health care to all its citizens."

We are also the only industrialized nation that grants automatic citizenship to any child born here, regardless of the citizenship of the childs parents.

Yep and their births are paid for by the American taxpayer. We get screwed twice and don't even benefit from the enjoyment of being screwed twice!

There are jobs out there that provide health insurance to its employee's, why not get one of those jobs? Just a thought!

Some of my friends say Obama cannot lead. He has run away from leadership with his new cowardly budget. I totally disagree with them. He is leading as a liberal progressive would lead. Massive deficit spending, no regard for the national debt and all decisions purly partisan. If I were a liberal progressive I would be very proud. Instead I am a middle class worker bee that is watching him wreck our economy and kill jobs with his wild eyed liberal agenda. I am scared to death of his leadership, but I do not think he is not leading, he is leading, just to a place that will lead to ruin.

"Just" another GOP sheep repeating one of Glenn Becks many lies without verifying it.

There are 33 other countries that offer automatic citizenship to anyone born in that country, including Canada (who also provide healthcare to all of their citizens, even the illegal ones like Sarah Palin http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/nor... )

Caller:
"The NMSU architects for years has planted palm trees and other exotics, against the advice of people who know better. Now they have lost ten of thousands of dollars worth of plants. The architect and others responsible should be fired"
No, the administrators who hired them (and never listened to the gaggle of horticulture professors) should be fired. And not replaced.
Drs. Mexal and St. Hilaire (and their students) could do more in a weekend for the NMSU landscape than all combined pencil-pusher effort ... ever.

1) Cram it, xenophobe

2) To the original caller: It's not the nation's job to provide healthcare to all its citizens. Amend the constitution or drop it. We spend 23% of our earnings on healthcare where other nations have better healthcare for less than 10%(and making less money so that 10% is quite a bit less). The problem is all of the moochers, thugs, and leeches who have legislated there roles into existence through our one party system.

Force and fraud, ie making it illegal to provide or receive healthcare without paying a large group of criminals who contribute zero to the actual health of the patient IS what's wrong with our healthcare system. Not lack of government (the monopolist of force and fraud).

Every healthcare scheme you statist phonies come up with is immoral and wrong until I can walk into a physician's private business, trade them for some healthcare with no involvement whatsoever from Big Brother.

Wrong!

Section 3(2) of the Current Act states that Canadian citizenship is not granted to a child born in Canada if, at the time of his/her birth, neither of his/her parents was a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident and either parent was a diplomatic or consular officer or other representative or employee of a foreign government in Canada or an employee of such a person.

The proper way to take care of this is to make the individuals that were or are in charge pay the cost of the affected plants and pay to have it removed and the cost of planting plants indigenous to the area we live in..hit it where it hurts in their wallets....

What are called "tax cuts for the rich" have been reductions in high tax rates under four different administrations, including the Democratic administration of John F. Kennedy. In each case, going all the way back to the 1920s, the reduced tax rates have led to increased tax revenues for the government.

"The rich" have ended up paying both a higher total amount of taxes and a larger share of all taxes than they did before what were called "tax cuts for the rich." The reason is very straightforward: high tax rates that people don't actually pay do not bring the government as much revenue as lower tax rates that they do pay.

High tax rates drive investors into tax shelters like tax-exempt bonds or drive their investments out of the country altogether, costing Americans jobs. This is not rocket science-- and the data are there to prove it.

The Mexican constitution addresses the situation of a child of a Mexican woman born in a foreign land. It states that said child is a full Mexican citizen. Why then, are we granting them dual citizenship? And, take note that that same article in the Mexican Constitution makes no mention of the Mexican man. I suppose they know better.

"Perhaps it's time to put those who are in law enforcement of some sort - or those in the community with a high profile - in jail when they get drunk so that they can learn their lesson as well."

Let's look at the news stories of today together.

"Man accused of beating 4-year-old boy"
"Las Cruces man dies in house fire" he was 80.
"Man faces felony charge after allegedly shooting teen"
"Former Mayfield coach goes missing"
"Bungling would-be robbers sought by police"
"Las Cruces woman charged after allegedly ripping off in-law's nipple..."
"Man shot in Juárez crosses border near UTEP for treatment"

See anything there that perhaps would make one who has to go and fix these problems ice cold and emotionless?

See anything there that perhaps might cause some problems at home when one is off duty?

See anything there that might make one look for a way to release tension?

See anything there that you would want to do day in and day out?

How about going to the 80 year old man's house and seeing him laying on the floor?
How about the little boy which was almost beat to death, wanna see that?

I am not saying there should be two laws, but I am saying some members of our community have very difficult careers.
