He has been with the district for less than 7 years, but not as superintendent! He's been the "super" for only a few years. Who is pulling the wool over who's eyes in this situation? I have lived here all my life and my kids have all graduated from THS. You'd think that at least the school board would ask parents' inputs in situations that involve our children and our schools!

I can tell you how to keep things like this from happening. Elect some people to the school board that have the school kids and parents at heart. Does extending Rice's contract for three more years fit that bill? I don't think so, but, those people on the school board are just elected people by us to represent us! So when electiom time rolls around have your say then, with their contracts!!!

What really makes me mad is that at least two school board members have told me for years how much they dislike him. And yet you see what keeps happening.

Just ask him what he has done for the employees. You ask him about paying overtime and he will walk away. What kind of an answer is that. The school board is no better. They said they would do everything they could to help all the employees and we got nothing that we could take to the bank.

Have you ever taken into consideration that the board really does know what they are doing and that if they terminate his contract he might not be able to find a new job, he might be determined unemployable and then he would not move on and out of our community. Think about it, maybe there is a method to their madness. There is always two sides to every story.

What you fail to realize is: It is the schoolboards responsibility to make sure Rice is doing what he is supposed to be doing. It is very obvious to everyone that Rice is NOT doing that. So it is the responsibikity of us VOTERS to correct the problem by electing somoeone to the schoolboard that is capabable of doing this. That is why we elect people to the schoolboard in thre first place! When they no longer have the parents or voters interest at heart, then it is time for them to be replaced!! Then the problems with Rice will go away! Not to mention that sorry excuse Rice hired as a high school principle,Tuggle could not over see a small daycare center!!

He doesn't even know what his employees are doing or just doesnt care. As long as it doesn't bite him. There is a guy that works at the LES that uses the school car for personal business. Like a taxi to take his relatives wherever they need to go, on school time, with school gas and doesnt seen to care WHO sees him. He has been seen all over town at all time of day by more than one person with the girl in the car. Now thats wrong, wrong, wrong. Unethical, illegal and just plane old WRONG. We are the taxpayers and salery providers and this kind of thing is going on. Shame. Shame. Shame.

I guess you did not get the memo? It is alright to steal from the tax payers of Trinity County!

Now raise your right hand and promise to pay it back, you will be ok!

Does any of these comments get read by anyone who gives a hoot? Is anything being done about them? Seems to me these are falling on deaf ears? May be that we need to post elsewhere to get some action.

"May be that we need to post elsewhere to get some action."

When is the next school board meeting?

When is the next school board election?

Is there a PTA?

Has anyone tried a letter to the editor?

If you feel strongly enough, have you tried a scandal-hungry tv reporter?
