shooting a person is the last result even if your life is in danger, Terry Green was unarmed and not a threat to this business owner's safety so there was no need to shoot Mr.Green, maybe Mr. Green was afraid of this man armed with a loaded shootgun and to nervous to stay put. Mr. Green was not even in posession of any stole property this is a murder no matter what the law says! GOD KNOWS.

Green was known to for theft, he has had quite a few run in with the law. What's the old saying what you live by is what you die by. AND God makes no mistakes!!

I am a relative of Terry Green's and first of all who are you to judge anyone. The only judge in my life and all of our lives is GOD. And you sure as hell arent that. Terry was a good person. You do not know him well enough to make a comment such as that. Whomever the person was that KILLED him will have to suffer with that for the rest of his life knowing that he KILLED someone. That sin is on the ten commandments list just as stealing is. No sin is greater than another. And everyone has sinned in some way or other. "He that has no sin cast the first stone". And i am pretty sure that is not you! Before you make such comments about someone else's life you should evaluate your own life.

How can you justify what was done by saying Mr. Green was a known theft. When in fact during this shooting he was not in possesion of any stolen property or a weapon. There's more to this story and a deeper investigation is needing. The real theft is about to get away with murder!!!

seems like something is not being said by the shooter maybe he and Mr.Green had an arrangement, because you don't shoot an unarmed man in the chest after supposing to have fired a warning shoot and telling him to stay put. SOMETHING DOESN'T ADD UP! MAYBE IF YOU SHOOT MR.GREEN IN THE LEGS HE'S ABLE TO TELL HE SIDE?

I have heard the New Soul Invaders play on many occassions and they are very gifted singers and musicians. My heart is saddened by the loss, no matter the manner in which he went to be with the Lord. My prayers are with Mr. Green's immediate family and musical family. May God lift you up and comfort you.

I am the Aunt of Terry Green. We are broken into a million pieces. We hurt and grieve for Terry. TJ Burdett knocked us to our knees and wounded our hearts forever. How could he kill our precious Terry. Terry was always up that time of the morning and I often asked him if he ever slept. No way Terry wouldn't comply to staying put while staring down the barrel of a shot-gun. My nephew didn't deserve to die like that. Terry probably went there to talk to TJ Burdett. It was common for him to be up at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. Terry leaves behind 2)2 year old & 3 year old) little children that will have to grow up without a father. Terry was unarmed & there was no stolen property on him. There was NO threat to the owner's safety. Terry was a member of a Gospel group The New Soul Invaders.

The family of Terry Green is at a loss for words. Terry's death was unexpected and the impact it has had on the family has been devastating. Only time can heal the wounds this tragic incident has left behind. As for the TRUTH, I pray that God reveals it and restores peace to the hearts and minds of LOVED ONES that Terry Green has left behind, In GOD'S I name I pray, AMEN.

Terry is my best friend. He is the father of my 2 beautiful children. We were G-FORCE and will always be G-FORCE. "GOD WILL HEAL ALL OF OUR HEARTS WHO GREIVE FOR TERRY. I NEED ALL TO BE STRONG AND PRAYERFUL THAT JUSTICE WILL PREVEIL!!!”

My children ask me everyday “WHERE’S DADDY? As I look into their little faces, holding back tears, I tell them that he is in Heaven with God.”

The Grand Jury should send this case to a jury. How can one kill an unarmed man who was NO threat to anyone's safety & call it justifiable?? Their was NO stolen property on him. Where was the threat!!! Where!!! He took the law into his own hands & killed a human being and we want to know why! We need justice for Terry!

I BELIEVE TERRY GREEN WAS WELL KNOWN TO TJ BURDETT. IT WAS A SET UP. HE WAITED FOR HIM TO COME AND SHOT HIM TO KILL HIM. HE NEEDS TO PAY THE HIGHEST PRICE FOR KILLING OUR BELOVED TERRY GREEN.

It seems that everyone here has pretty strong opinions. I am pretty neutral as I don't know either part involved. I can just say this as a former business owner. If someone broke into my business after hours and I was there with a shotgun, it would have resulted in the same thing... a dead thief.
Life is about choices and it appears Terry made the wrong choice.
I am sorry for his family for what HE has put you through. This is not a case where someone else is responsible for the results. This is a case where a decision was made to enter a business at night (it just so happens this business has a surplus of copper which is a commonly stolen item).
Some people seem to be saying this was a set up. Well, looking at the facts as provided in the news article, I have to say that if it was, it was done quite well.

I don't know what happen, but from what I hear Terry was shot in the chest not in the back so therefore he did not try and run from this beast who shot him. If this owner felt as though he was in danger he could have shot him in the leg, foot etc..but his intentions was to kill. I am not the one to hold up for wrongness but again this owner was not in danger and I pray to God that a judge and a jury find justice here on earth, because if not God will at the end. I will miss Terry from the singing programs when he walks in, you know these young men are going to show out. Love always to the New Soul Invaders my prayers goes out to you all..Rosenberg/ Brookshire, Tx.

My comments to the man that stated it was done quite well the way the owner did his job, how would you feel if this was your family member or someone you love I don't think you would feel like that than. You stated that life is about choices so true. So therefore when a homosexual is beat up because of his or her lifestyle that what they get because they chose a lifestyle that God hate. If you can get pass the stealing of the copper and remember they found no weapon on Terry....have a heart and get to know God.

Sheila-KatyTexas... oh my my my! This is going to turn into quite an interesting thread.
How would I feel if my family member had been in a business after it was closed and got shot?!?!? I would be upset at my family member for being stupid and trying to steal.
Secondly, I am not sure what religion you are, but the God of my understanding does not hate... including homosexuals. The God of the Old Testament punished Sodom and Gomorrah but since His son was sent (post New Testament), there was a forgiveness built into our birth. All one has to do is accept the belief in Jesus. Actually, come to think of it, homosexuality is not a violation of one of the ten commandments, but I believe theft is (don't covet your neighbor's....).
You ask that we "get past the stealing of copper," but that is the whole point. Had this Terry Green not been a thief and gotten himself into a situation, he may still be alive.

We all have the right to use deadly force. Where Texas may be more liberal in its requirements to meet that threshold the law is clear in every state. All the major religions of the world recognize natural law and self-defense is one of those. It is a basic and fundamental benchmark and without that authority, we would have known law. We must remember that the law is not there to manage the law-abiding but to protect the law-abiding from those individuals or groups who pay no measure to the law. For me personally my neighbors require nothing more than a screen door to prevent me from entering where they wish me not to go. That door does not even need to be locked and I would not even look to see if it was. I understand the appropriate time of the day to be at or in an area such as the deceased was. In addition, the property owner or manager has the authority to direct any individual on their property. There is no requirement that the intruder be armed either, the weapon may be a weapon of opportunity. However, the story does not end here and neither do the choices available to the family of the deceased. A criminal trial is unlikely because he was within the law. Nevertheless, the family also has the choice of a civil lawsuit, which is independent of the criminal trial, and the rules of evidence far more liberal in their design. This guy was pretty stupid so I doubt a judge would let it go to trial but the world is full of stupid jurists as well.

What a jerk! To write this kind of crap is telling about who & what you are. I take it, you're most likely connected to the murderer. Your apology is empty & the family of Terry don't want it. Save it! You're nothing more than a sick human that enjoy writing hurtful comments to the people that love Terry. TJ Burdett is a murderer and if he doesn't pay on this earth, he'll pay unto God. You put more value on copper than a human life. And there was NO stolen property on Terry. TJ Burdett only gave his side of the story. Terry didn't have a weapon & he didn't steal anything. Terry wouldn't harm anyone...ever. Terry loved God & singing for God. TJ Burdett murdered one of God's children. God is the ULTIMATE JUDGE & TJ Burdett won't get off with him! And don't forget America is watching & taking note of prosecutors & grand juries since the Duke Lacrosse Case. We will not be silent!
