If it bleeds it leads. The media will enthusiastically report the rare cases where people die, but its not going to talk a lot about how about the same amount of people die as from regular flu. I read the number somewhere. It was about 1 or 4(can't remember which) out of 1000. That means if you get swine flu you'll probably be OK.

And because the media overhypes things like this everybody, even politicians and administrators (who should be researching these things themselves and not relying on the media) panic. We see the same things happening in foreign policy ever since the Spanish-American War where the media overhyped Spanish brutality in the Cuban Revolution and made it look like what was probably just a fire that got out of control and destroyed a ship, a Spanish attack.

DO you realize that they are no longer even testing people for the H1N1 virus (unless they are admitted to the hospital with unknown cause)??? If people think they are sick with H1N1 they are told to stay home. If they don't stay home and go to their Dr's then they are testing them for influenza A or B.

If they test positve for Influenza A, then they PRESUME it's H1N1. All these cases of H1N1 you hear being reported on the news are only PRESUMED cases...they're just guessing it's H1N1!!!

Since the majority of ALL flu's are Influenza A, that's an awful lot of presuming, isn't it???

I guess they have to justify the "pandemic hype" and billiions $$$ spent in the thrown-together vaccination by making the numbers sound MUCH larger than they really are.
