I saw this wreck happen - I passed the stalled (?) truck in the middle lane, I was in the right lane....saw the driver (?) on the left shoulder of the road, trying to cross traffic back to the stalled truck. There were NO lights on the truck, no brake lights -and it was sitting at a complete stop in the middle lane. It shocked me, scared me - I knew someone was going to plow into that truck - visability was very poor, and just as I passed it and uttered those words, and not a couple seconds later I heard/saw in my rear view mirror the white sedan hit that truck and spin around - it was so awful..I immediately called 911 and reported it - I would have, should have gone back there, but it wasn't safe to get off at that time....I am so heartbroken that someone died in that wreck, and shaken up to have seen it happen......awful awful...and thankful that there but for the Grace of God went I.....I pray for the family of the poor person who was killed.

I came by this dump truck minutes before the wreck. I knew someone was going to get hurt because he did not have one light in the back of that truck and was completely stationary in third lane over from the right. I'm praying for the victim's family.

I was just leaving campus going West bound and I saw the wreck and it was terrible, I definitley have their family in my thoughs and prayers. So sad the Maxima or was completley smashed from the top of the car to the floor board. This just shows how precious life is and how we should live life to the fullest.

They should take away the drivers license of the person who was responsible for the truck without the lights on.Unless the battery died.

If you notice a vehicle in distress, no lights or anything on a busy interstate, my advice would be to try to pull behind it (if you notice in time) and place your hazard lights on and see if you can assist the person. Your hazard lights would have been lights that other passerbys may use to avoid the stranded vehicle. My thoughts and prayers are with the families, accidents happen every day. Lets all do our part to have safer roadways.

I was almost ran over by a dump truck driver the other day on South Parkway, he came so close to hitting me it scared me really bad and I was moving on pretty good but he was literally flying. His truck said Reed Construction on the side of it. I'm not bashing truck drivers but they must realize they cannot stop on a dime especially in inclement weather.

I would not judge the driver of the dump truck until all the facts are in.my heart goes out to the family of the person that was killed.any time one gets in a vehicle of any kind they are at high risk of not returning back home,we need to be alert at all times when we are behind the wheel of a vehicle, which means no cell phones, computers or anything else that takes our attention away from the road.

If you see a company vehicle doing something that it should not or driving in a reckless manner you should always report it to that company.

Most trucks have governors on them so speeding is NOT POSSIBLE.

I drive a tractor trailer everyday of the week and its hard to say what happen were not the driver of the dump truck to tell what went wrong with the truck. but u want to talk about how people drive well ive seen alot of differnet stuff going on behind the wheel while people drive there cars dont get me wrong some trucks to but the most part of the crazy drivers is the car drivers because they dont know how to drive around big trucks they think there so cool cutting us off pulling in and out of triffic just to get 30 feet ahead and the truck just pass them back by i think the people that drives cars need to go to a 24 hours of class to learn how to drive a car safley they made us just to get a cdl because the studies have done 80% of big trucks vs cars is the car driver fault well that tell me the people who drives a car needs training and the roads would be alot more safer.

I know your trying to help but thats not good advice.. In a situation like this the only thing you can do is dial 911 and report it. Stopping behind a stalled car on the interstate is extremly dangerous to the occupants in your vehicle and will likely be fatal if a vehicle crashes into it at interstate speeds. I don't understand why the driver of the stalled vehicle couldn't get that vehicle off the roadway, even if he lost power it seems he would have been able to manuver it the side of the road if he was travelling on the interstate.

The man that all of you have refered to was my cousin Gary McClaran. He was 59 years old. He was a fine man & has a wonderful wife Pam, of many years. trust me when I say, he will be missed by many people. Gary is the 2nd son out of 4 sons. His brothers are Doran of Huntsville, Gene of Huntsville, & Jon of Birmingham. I know all of the family will thank you for all of your prayers.
Thank you all,

I saw the accident shortly after it happened. Although I don't know the McClaran family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray God will bring you peace and comfort.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Scorpio

It will be easy to let things get on top of you today, especially if you're already feeling rather tired and listless. Do yourself a favor and keep away from anyone who often makes you feel a bit fed up or defensive, because they're the last person you want to be around at the moment. They'll make your spirits sink down to your ankles in a flash, and who needs that?
