<quoted text>. Dr Davis in Athens is a waste of money...he will give u what dr a was giving u but barely enough to keep u alive and he makes u come every two weeks...people want to say bad stuff about dr.a well what about docs like this makin u pay 500 for first visit n 250 every two weeks! At least dr.a gave you what u paid for and didnt take advantage of people in need of their medication!
Thanks for that info. If someone can pay $500 up front and $500 per month, you're selling. It's almost obvious. Not meaning you (Lincoln Light), just generally speaking. LL, if you see this, lets say Dr. A gave you 120 Roxi 30's and now you go to Davis, what would Davis give you each month? I'm not going there but I was wondering what his numbers were per visit and how long is his wait time?

Can anyone say how long it will take to feel "good" after stopping my meds I was on alot and have now stopped but still tappering the Valium I have. I am on my 5th day no pain meds. I have legitimate pain that I am going to try to live with. But when will I know my body is not withdrawing from THESE meds anymore. Still can't sleep much at all! Very anxious. And of course I am HURTIN. But when will it be just my pain and not withdrawing from meds on top of my pain????? Please help with advice. I am proud to be on day 5 but how much longer?????

It depends on what you were on, how much, how long, your body chemistry and your weight. My last refill was four weeks ago. I flushed it all and went to a medical detox four weeks ago this Saturday. Yesterday, I was in severe pain and crying. It was the first day I wanted to give up. But, I told myself this too shall pass. And it did. I think every new day brings it own challenges. We have to learn to live life just one second at a time and not worry what is going to happen later. Last Saturday I went out to eat. Monday I went for a massage, got my haircut and went out to eat again. Since the massage my back has been hurting very badly. My family dr. gave me Tramadol. It helps some. And I have an appt. to see a Rehabilition and Neurological dr. on the 18th.

Just do not give up, and be careful trying to come off Valium. That and alcohol can possibly make you have a serious medical reaction. Do not go cold turkey with the Valium or any other anti anxiety drugs. Please seek help with your primary care doctor. This is just something you cannot do on your own.

Let me rephrase my last sentence. This is something I think you should not do own your own. I had serious medical consequences when I stopped my Xanax cold turkey.

Best of luck.

Thanks Annie for responding. Glad u didn't give up. How long were u in a place to detox and did they put u on something? If so u still take it or do u take nothing if nothing how long? That info might help me know.

Wow! Having read some of these posts and what the pain doctors are like, I am appalled! I just want to find a good doctor - not be treated like a "user", or wait hours and hours, or have to pay a huge fee up front, or have to go every two weeks. What is up with that anyway? I moved here from another state and was reffered to Dr. A by my old doctor. Had no clue all of this was going on. I have great insurance and have never had to pay weird fees etc...

Any ideas on a reputable pain doctor? I am on one pain medicine - I am not worried about withdrawals etc. but what concerns me is that I will not be able to find a doctor. I know they are being flooded with calls from Dr. A's patients. I also worry that there might be a "stigma" attached to me because I was one of his patients.

(no limit 2 me - I sent you a private message, but then saw where you said that email had been discontinued.)

I responded Kat. I still get PM's even though I don't use that email address anymore. For some reason, it was shut down because they said there was suspected activity of someone trying to access my email from another location, computer or something and luckily when they done that, I wasn't using it for anything anyway. I could open it back up again with a phone call but it's not needed.

Gemini, is that a lot of pressure your putting on yourself? Or maybe you are just clairvoyent and take the written words on your email and can cypher and pick WHO you think is most deserving. I bet at least 70% of Agg patients did exactly as they were told. And all 70% of the good patients need help, we are all suffering. Why don't you play fair and give the name of your new dr. out? Then he could decide who HE/SHE thinks is the most deserving. Do you realize people are going to be hurt so badly just because they don't win one of your 10 golden tickets? A lot of us are grasping at straws here. Why didn't you ask Agg's staff who were there top 10 people in the worst shape.
arent you a little rump hurt there..........by the way beck is a [email protected], and witt is a punk

m william - I am still looking into what is available. Honestly? Unfortunately none of the ones I have researched seem to be very promising. It is very disheartening. Before I moved here from another state, my orthopedic surgeon prescribed medicine for me. He referred me to Dr. A - and that is the only "pain doctor" I have ever been to.

Someone I know went to one of the pain clinics, and before they will do anything for her, she must go to a psychologist.(Apparently there IS going to be a stigma of sorts from being a patient of Dr. A.)

She has many different problems - Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, carpal tunnel, issues from prior surgerys, etc....

So frustrating!*sigh*

I wish you luck!:)

From what I have heard (keep in mind this is just one person), there is a huge waiting list - like 4 months or so.

Don't wait for them to call you - be proactive and call them. That's what this person did.....they had her records and info, but she had to call them to make an appointment.

Good luck to you.:)
